Fantasy Football Week 11 Streamers: QB, TE and Team Defense

Before unveiling Week 11’s quarterback, tight end and team defense fantasy football streamers, let’s see how Week 10’s did (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Jimmy Garoppolo-15.9 points
Tight End: Greg Dulcich-1.6 points
New York Giants: 9 points

Here are Week 11’s quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers, with the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars on bye.

Quarterback: Marcus Mariota, Atlanta Falcons vs. Chicago Bears

Mariota uglied it up pretty good in Week 10 against the Carolina Panthers, but 186 yards, two passing touchdowns (with an interception) and 43 rushing yards equaled a nice fantasy day (18.74 points, Yahoo! scoring). He has multiple passing touchdowns in two of his last three, and three of his last five. He has over 40 rushing yards in four of his last six, and basically at least 18 fantasy points (technically 17.98; Yahoo! scoring) in four of his last six as well.

Speculation on Mariota’s job security is easy and obvious, but Falcons head coach Arthur Smith doesn’t seem ready to go with rookie Desmond Ridder. So in Week 11 Mariota gets a decent matchup against the Chicago Bears, who are mid-pack in fantasy points per game allowed to quarterbacks. But Chicago also has the fewest pass attempts per game against in the league (27.5). numberFire also has the Bears defense as the seventh-worst in the league by their all-encompasing metric.

Streamers are of course one-week starts by definition. So it doesn’t matter if Mariota starts in Week 12, Week 13, etc. As long as he’s starting in Week 11, and he should be, the matchup and situation in a game that could be high-scoring puts him here.

Others To Consider: Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals (Monday night; Mexico); Daniel Jones, New York Giants vs. Detroit Lions (check availability); Jared Goff, Detroit Lions at New York Giants; Taylor Heinicke, Washington Commanders at Houston Texans (make sure he’s starting); Davis Mills, Houston Texans vs. Washington Commanders; Kenny Pickett, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Tight End: Cole Kmet, Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons

Kmet had four catches for 74 yards and two touchdowns in Week 10 against the Detroit Lions, highlighted by a 50-yard score. He has five touchdowns over his last three games (four in the last two), which reeks of looming regression. But he has nine catches for 115 yards on 13 targets over the last two games as well, and his matchup in Week 10 can’t be ignored.

The Atlanta Falcons have allowed just one touchdown to a tight end this season. But they have allowed the third-most catches (59, 5.9 per game), the third-most yards (588, 58.8 per game) and the second-most targets (84, 8.4 per game) to the position, and thus they’ve allowed the 12th-most fantasy points to tight ends (Yahoo!, 0.5-point PPR).

Kmet stretches the boundaries of being a streamer, at least in Yahoo! leagues. But for Week 11, he is the easy top choice at tight end.

Others To Consider: Foster Moreau, Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos; Juwan Johnson, New Orleams Saints vs. Los Angeles Rams; Hayden Hurst, Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers;

Team Defense: Washington Commanders at Houston Texans

However aided by an offense that held the ball, the Commanders held the Philadephia Eagles to 21 points (seven after the first two drives) in Week 10. They sacked Jalen Hurts once, with four takeaways and a defensive touchdown.

An easy mark to play your guys against in fantasy lineups early in the season, Washington has allowed 21 points or less in six straight games with multiple sacks and/or takeaways in five of them. They are also set to activate defensive end Chase Young (torn ACL) from IR this week.

In Week 11 the Commanders face the Houston Texans, who have scored 17 or less points in four of thei last five games. Over the last three, Davis Mills has been sacked 10 times (at least three in each) and he thrown at least one interception in four straight. Four straight opposing defenses, and five of the last six, have scored at least eight fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) against Houston.

The Texans have become a top target to stream a defense against. I’m going back to the well this week with the Commanders.
