Fantasy Football Week 14 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

It’s playoff time in fantasy football, and even if you didn’t earn a playoff spot in your league there’s hopefully still a consolation bracket to win. So lineup decisions should still be relevant for every fantasy owner, and streaming is still an option. With that in mind, here are your Week 14 streamers at quarterback, tight end and team defense.

Quarterback: Brock Osweiler, Houston Texans, at Indianapolis Colts
Yahoo! Ownership: 10%

There’s no denying Osweiler’s ineptitude, but in four weeks since Houston’s bye he has averaged 13.8 fantasy points per game (ESPN scoring) with multiple passing touchdowns twice in that span.

Osweiler’s best game of the season came against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 6, with 269 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception, and he’ll get a rematch in Week 14. Even with the ineptitude of the New York Jets’ quarterbacks in Week 13, the Colts have still allowed the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season (18.6 per game; ESPN scoring). Prior to Monday night against the Jets, they had allowed multiple passing touchdowns in eight straight games and at least 269 passing yards allowed in five of those contests.

A clunker from Osweiler is always possible, but it’s hard to find a more favorable situation for a streaming option at quarterback this week. Owners in two-quarterback or super-flex leagues should consider Osweiler as a plug-and-play option.

Others To Consider: Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Redskins; Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders (Thursday night), Jared Goff, Los Angeles Rams vs. Atlanta Falcons; Colin Kaepernick/Blaine Gabbert, San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Jets

Tight End: Jermaine Gresham, Arizona Cardinals, at Miami Dolphins
Yahoo! Ownership: 3%

Gresham landed on the fantasy radar with a touchdown in Week 11 and Week 12, and he followed that with a second straight five-catch game (for 52 yards) in Week 13. Over his last four games, Gresham has been targeted at least six times three times.

Gresham has a chance to keep his momentum going in Week 14, as the Miami Dolphins have allowed 8.6 fantasy points (tied for sixth-most in the league, ESPN standard scoring) to tight ends this season. Narrowing down to their last four games, the Dolphins have allowed 31 receptions (7.8 per game) for 336 yards (84 yards per game) and five touchdowns to tight ends.

This year, simply finding positive production from a fantasy tight end has frequently proven difficult. If you’re seeking a streamer for Week 14, Gresham offers the baseline of 3-5 receptions with the possibility of a touchdown.

Others To Consider: Dennis Pitta, Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots (Monday night); Lance Kendricks, Los Angeles Rams vs. Atlanta Falcons; Ladarius Green, Pittsburgh Steelers at Buffalo Bills; Vance McDonald, San Francisco 49ers vs. New York Jets

Team Defense: Cincinnati Bengals, at Cleveland Browns
Yahoo! Ownership: 33%

Face it, I had you with “at Browns.” But the Bengals have been a fairly useful fantasy defense in recent weeks, allowing less than 20 points in three straight games and seven interceptions over their last four games.

Robert Griffin III is in line to start under center for the Browns on Sunday, and if he doesn’t Cody Kessler or Josh McCown would get the nod. Kessler started back in Week 7 against the Bengals, before suffering his first concussion and giving way to fellow rookie Kevin Hogan. Cincinnati allowed 17 points with two sacks and two interceptions in that game, and if not for Hogan’s fluke production as a runner (104 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground) things would have been even better.

Cincinnati’s defense has no downside this week, with no real danger from whoever the Browns start under center. Sacks and turnovers look sure to be aplenty on Sunday.

Others To Consider: Detroit Lions, vs. Chicago Bears; Tennessee Titans, vs. Denver Broncos; Atlanta Falcons, vs. Los Angeles Rams; Indianapolis Colts, vs. Houston Texans
