Fantasy Football Week 18 Streamers: QB, TE and Team Defense

Before we unveil fantasy football streamers for the final time in the 2022 season, let’s see how Week 17’s streamers did (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Brock Purdy-18.06 points
Tight End: Tyler Conklin-11 points
Team Defense: New York Giants-14 points

If you’re in a fantasy league that goes through Week 18, here are our quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for the final week of the 2022 NFL regular season.

Quarterback: Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

Darnold went 23-for-37 for 341 yards with three touchdowns and an interception against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17, along with 20 rushing yards. Three total turnovers was not ideal, but he still topped 21 fantasy points for the second straight game. He has thrown for 250 or more yards in each of those two games, and he has accounted for multiple touchdowns in three of his five starts this season.

In Week 18 Darnold has one last opportunity to put more on his 2023 audition tape against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints are in the top half of the league in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, rooted in allowing multiple passing touchdowns just four times all season and just once in their last five games. But they have allowed a little bit of rushing production to opposing signal callers, at least 30 yards and/or a score on the ground to a quarterback eight times.

Darnold may just meander his way to a fantasy QB1 finish again in Week 18, as he absolutely personally has something to play for. So he stands as our final quarterback streamer for this season.

ESPN Ownership: 2.9%
Yahoo! Ownership: 7%

Others To Consider: Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals; Jarrett Stidham, Las Vegas Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs (Saturday afternoon); Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos vs. Los Angeles Chargers; Mike White, New York Jets at Miami Dolphins

Tight End: Tyler Conklin, New York Jets at Miami Dolphins

The Jets offense did not have a good outing in Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks, save for Conklin (six catches for 80 yards). That was a good matchup, and his Week 18 matchup is almost as good.

Conklin delivered a catchless dud against the Miami Dolphins back in Week 5. But Zach Wilson started that game. While it’s a low bar Mike White is a better quarterback, and he has targeted Conklin at least six times in each of his last three starts. The Dolphins are also allowing the third-most fantasy points to tight ends this season.

Conklin definitely has a low floor, but the same can be said for just about any tight end. So it’s back to the well with him here as the top streamer for Week 18, in another nice matchup.

ESPN Ownership: 37.6%
Yahoo! Ownership: 29%

Others To Consider: Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers, Trey McBride, Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers; Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders vs. Dallas Cowboys; Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers

Team Defense: Los Angeles Chargers at Denver Broncos

The Chargers defense has been on a great roll lately, allowing 17 or less points in four straight games (14 or less in three straight) with 16 total sacks over that span.

In Week 18 the Chargers get the Denver Broncos, who have had well-documented offensive struggles this season. Denver has scored at least 24 offensive points in three of their last four games, but they’ve also allowed 23 sacks over that span with multiple giveaways in all four.

At a glance, the Chargers seem to have a chance to improve their playoff seed with a win on Sunday. So it should be all hands on deck, including for a defense that’s playing as well as any in the league lately.

ESPN Ownership: 25.9%
Yahoo! Ownership: 49%

Others To Consider: Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts; Cincinnati Bengals vs. Baltimore Ravens; Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets; New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers; Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (Sunday night); Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Tennessee Titans (Saturday night)
