Fantasy Football Week 18 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

Week 17 is the end for most fantasy football leagues, but for those of you in leagues that end in Week 18 we’re here for you with quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers. First, as usual, let’s see how last week’s streamers did (Yahoo! scoring; 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Derek Carr-15.58 points
Tight End: Chigoziem Okonkwo-4.9 points
Team Defense: Los Angeles Rams-8 points

For the final time in the 2023 season, here are our quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers.

Quarterback: Jake Browning, Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns

Browning threw for 197 yards, ran for 32 and had two total touchdowns against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17. His streak of games with at least 275 passing yards ended at four, but he has topped 19.9 fantasy points in four of his last five games with a rushing touchdown in three of them,

Week 18 brings a tough matchup against the Cleveland Browns, who are a top-five fantasy defense against quarterbacks this season. But they have allowed multiple touchdown passes in three of their last five games, and they’ve allowed rushing production to an opposing signal caller at times this season. They also could be resting people on Sunday, with nothing to gain for their playoff seed.

Browning may have his top two wide receivers (Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins) at less than 100 percent health in season finale. But he has been getting it done in terms of fantasy production, and he gets the bump as my top quarterback streamer for Week 18.

Others To Consider: Derek Carr, New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons; Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts vs. Indianapolis Colts (Saturday night); Tyrod Taylor, New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles; Nick Mullens, Minnesota Vikings at Detroit Lions (if he starts); Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns at Cincinnati Bengals (make sure he’s not being rested)

Tight End: Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints vs. Atlanta Falcons

Johnson had eight receptions for 90 yards and a touchdown, on 12 targets, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 17. He has scored in three straight games, with 19 targets over the last two as he has become a trusted target for Derek Carr.

In Week 18 Johnson gets the Atlanta Falcons, who have allowed the sixth-most receptions and the fifth-most yards to tight ends this season. That has of course translated to them allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to the position (0.5-point PPR).

The Saints will not be resting anyone in Week 18, and Johnson is on a hot streak heading into another nice matchup. He’s easily the top streaming tight end this week.

Others To Consider: Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears; Tyler Conklin, New York Jets at New England Patriots; Chigoziem Okonkwo, Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars; Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Carolina Panthers

Team Defense: Las Vegas Raiders vs. Denver Broncos

Since Antonio Pierce took over as interim head coach, the Raiders have been on a nice run defensively. Week 17 against the Indianapolis Colts wasn’t great from a fantasy perspective (23 points allowed, one sack, no takeaways), but over their previous three games they had 13 sacks and seven takeaways (four touchdowns).

The Denver Broncos made the decision to bench Russell Wilson ahead of Week 17, and go with Jarrett Stidham for the rest of the season. The results weren’t any better against the Chargers last week (16 points), and the Raiders should have some extra familiarity with Stidham because he played for them last season.

Playing at home against an offense that was never great this season, now led by a backup quarterback. The Raiders are the No. 1 streaming defense for Week 18, with no downside and lots of upside.
