Before diving into Week 2’s quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers, let’s review Week 1’s results (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).
Quarterback: Sam Darnold-19.06 points
Tight End: Austin Hooper-4.20 points
Team Defense: Carolina Panthers-9 points
Here are my quarterback, tight end and team defense fantasy streamers for Week 2.
Quarterback: Teddy Bridgewater, Denver Broncos at Jacksonville Jaguars
Bridgewater was efficient (28-for-36) and effective (264 yards, two touchdowns) against the New York Giants in Week 1, on his way to topping 20 fantasy points. Losing wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (ankle) for 4-6 weeks will hurt, but a great matchup is coming in Week 2.
In Week 1, the Jacksonville Jaguars allowed 291 passing yards, 40 rushing yards and two touchdowns through the air to Houston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor on his way to a finish as QB11 for the week. Bridgewater isn’t quite the running threat Taylor is, but with better weapons around him (even without Jeudy) he won’t have to be to deliver a nice stat line.
The Jaguars will be an easy target to stream a quarterback against until further notice. I’m not high on Bridgewater as a general principle, but his Week 2 matchup can’t be ignored.

Tight End: Jared Cook, Los Angeles Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys
Cook had five catches for 56 yards (on eight targets) against Washington in Week 1, as he finished third on the team in catches and targets. Los Angeles’ other two tight ends (Donald Parham, Stephen Anderson) combined for two catches on three targets. The veteran is clearly the top pass-catching tight end for the Chargers, with natural upside catching passes from Justin Herbert.
In Week 2 Cook gets the Dallas Cowboys, who were burned for eight catches, 90 yards and two touchdowns by Rob Gronkowski in Week 1. The defense doesn’t seem to be a lot better than it was last year, even in the context of facing the defending Super Bowl champions in the season opener.

Cook combines some downfield ability with scoring prowess (16 touchdowns total in 2019 and 2020). He should be owned in more fantasy leagues, speaking broadly, and he’s an easy choice as my top tight end streamer for Week 2.

Team Defense: New York Giants at Washington Football Team (Thursday night)
The Giants’ defense didn’t have a great outing in Week 1 against the Denver Broncos, allowing 27 points and 420 yards with two sacks and one takeaway. But a 70-yard touchdown run by Melvin Gordon skews the numbers, as they allowed just 3.5 yards per carry on the Broncos’ other rushing attempts and Teddy Bridgewater had just two pass completions of more than 10 yards. Week 2 brings a rebound opportunity.
Washington lost quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick for the next several weeks to a hip injury in Week 1, and they seem content to go with Taylor Heinicke as their starter. Heinicke was fine when he entered last week’s game for Fitzpatrick (11-for-15, 122 yards, one touchdown), but he has just two career starts (including playoffs) on his resume with 97 of his 136 career pass attempts in those games.
Washington running back Antonio Gibson is dealing with a shoulder injury. It didn’t appear to be a big issue last Sunday, as he came back into the game, but it’s worth noting on a short week before a Thursday night game. Any limitations Gibson might have will hamper the Washington offense.
Giants’ defensive coordinator Patrick Graham will surely reach into his bag of tricks to confuse Heinicke. Along with allowing a low point total, bet on New York’s defense putting up at least a handful of sacks and takeaways in Week 2.
