Fantasy Football Week 6 Streamers: QB, TE and Team Defense

Before I roll out Week 6’s streamers, let’s take a look at how Week 5’s streamers did (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5 point PPR).

Quarterback: Daniel Jones4.82 points (left early with a concussion)
Tight End: Dalton Schultz-10.9 points
Team Defense: New England Patriots-5 points

Better results will hopefully come this week. Week 6 starts bye weeks, with the Atlanta Falcons, New York Jets, New Orleans Saints and San Francisco 49ers idle, and here are my quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for the week.

Quarterback: Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins (London)

Lawrence went 23-for-33 for 273 yards with a touchdown and an interception, along with seven carries for 28 yards and a touchdown, in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. He has a rushing score in back-to-back games, with 21 carries over the last three. He’s not Lamar Jackson but he is athletic and he’s being used as a runner.

The Jaguars will kickoff Week 6’s Sunday slate in London against the Miami Dolphins, who are allowing the sixth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season (22.4 per game, Yahoo! scoring). That is certainly skewed by allowing 411 passing yards and five touchdowns to Tom Brady in Week 5. But Miami has allowed multiple passing touchdowns in four straight games, and more than 280 passing yards in three of five games overall this season.

Lawrence is playing cleaner football lately, with just one turnover over the last two games while completing over 69 percent of his passes in both. The No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft stands above the crowd of quarterback streamers for Week 6.

Others To Consider: Justin Fields, Chicago Bears vs. Green Bay Packers (check injury status); Carson Wentz, Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans; Sam Darnold, Carolina Panthers vs. Minnesota Vikings; Taylor Heinicke, Washington Football Team vs. Kansas City Chiefs; Tua Tagovailoa/Jacoby Brissett, Miami Dolphins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (London); Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns vs. Arizona Cardinals; Teddy Bridgewater, Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders; Geno Smith, Seattle Seahawks at Pittsburgh Steelers (Sunday night); Jared Goff, Detroit Lions vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Tight End: Ricky Seals-Jones, Washington Football Team vs. Kansas City Chiefs

Seals-Jones had five catches (on eight targets) for 41 yards against the New Orleans Saints in Week 5, with a couple missed opportunities that could have boosted his production, as he became Washington’s No. 1 tight end with Logan Thomas (hamstring) on IR. He has played more than 90 percent of the offensive snaps in back-to-back games, with a nice Week 6 matchup coming.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been pretty bad defensively this season. That has gotten all the way to defending tight ends, as they’re allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to the position thus far (14.8 per game; Yahoo! 0.5-point PPR). They have allowed the most yards to tight ends through Week 5, with over 100 yards allowed to the position in three of five games. Five tight ends have posted double-digit full PPR points against them.

The tight end landscape requires going a little deeper for viable options some weeks. With basically an every-snap role available to him until Thomas is back, and a good matchup in a game where Washington is lined up to throw plenty, Seals-Jones is my top tight end streamer in Week 6.

Others To Consider: Hunter Henry, New England Patriots vs. Dallas Cowboys; David Njoku, Cleveland Browns vs. Arizona Cardinals; Dan Arnold, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Miami Dolphins (London), C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions; Evan Engram, New York Giants vs. Los Angeles Rams; Tyler Conklin, Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers; Mo Alie-Cox, Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans

Team Defense: Cincinnati Bengals at Detroit Lions

All things considered, even with missed field goals as a factor, the Bengals defense held its own against the Green Bay Packers in Week 5 (25 points allowed, two sacks, one interception). They have multiple sacks in four of five games this season, led by Trey Hendrickson with 4.5 sacks, and a great matchup is coming in Week 6.

If not for a gift-wrapped opportunity deep in Vikings’ territory late in Week 5, the Detroit Lions would have likely been held to nine points in the game. As it was they scored 17 points or less for the fourth straight game, and Jared Goff has taken 10 sacks over the last three games (eight in the last two).

The Lions are injury-thinned along the offensive line, though there’s a chance left tackle Taylor Decker (finger) is back from IR this week. A thin group of wide receivers took a hit with Quintez Cephus suffering a collarbone injury last week. The Lions are the new top target to stream a defense against, and Cincinnati’s improved unit is next up.
