Fantasy Football Week 6 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

Before I roll out Week 6’s streamers, here’s the accounting for Week 5 (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Jacoby Brissett-11.94 points
Tight End: Tyler Eifert-2.14 points
Team Defense: Philadelphia Eagles-35 points

With four teams on a bye (Buffalo Bills, Indianapolis Colts, Chicago Bears, Oakland Raiders), here are my quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for Week 6.

Quarterback: Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Cousins answered the bell that was rang by his top two wide receivers in Week 5, as he completed 22 of 27 passes for 306 yards (11.3 yards per attempt) and two touchdowns against the New York Giants. He obviously took advantage of a soft matchup, but another is coming in Week 6.

If not for facing Luke Falk in Week 5 (120 passing yards, two interceptions), the Philadelphia Eagles would be allowing more than the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks through five weeks (21.98 per game; Yahoo! scoring) and just over 271 passing yards per game.

With a banged up secondary, the way to move the ball against the Eagles’ defense is clearly through the air. Cousins is in line for a second straight nice game, and the prospect of a bit more volume than last week raises his ceiling as the top streaming quarterback this week.

ESPN Ownership: 25.5%
Yahoo! Ownership: 42%

Others To Consider: Matthew Stafford, Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (Monday night); Teddy Bridgewater, New Orleans Saints at Jacksonville Jaguars; Gardner Minshew, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. New Orleans Saints; Andy Dalton, Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens; Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers at Los Angeles Rams; Kyle Allen, Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tight End: Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams vs. San Francisco 49ers

Over his last two games, Everett has 12 receptions for 180 yards and a touchdown (nearly two). Over that span, as Jared Goff has thrown the ball a total of 117 times, his 19 targets is good for a 16.2 percent target share. With wide receiver Brandon Cooks in concussion protocol, Everett’s role could stay prominent in Week 6.

It’s not a good matchup for him though, as the San Francisco 49ers are allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends (ESPN PPR scoring). But tight ends aren’t getting much volume against them (5.5 targets per game; tied for sixth-fewest in the league).

Week 6 is as good as it will get for Everett. But he doesn’t need a repeat to be a viable fantasy tight end going forward, and he’s absolutely the top streamer in Week 6.

ESPN Ownership: 3.4%
Yahoo! Ownership: 11%

Others To Consider: Chris Herndon, New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys; Jordan Akins, Houston Texans at Kansas City Chiefs; Noah Fant, Denver Broncos vs. Tennessee Titans; Cameron Brate, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers

Team Defense: Dallas Cowboys at New York Jets

The Cowboys’ defense allowed 34 points to the Green Bay Packers in Week 5, but they did have two sacks to put themselves into positive territory in fantasy points. They allowed 17 or less points in three of their first four games though, and a get-right opportunity is coming in Week 6.

In four games this season, the New York Jets have scored two offensive touchdowns. Being without quarterback Sam Darnold for the last three games has played a significant role. But it’s not as if he lit it up back in Week 1, as the Jets scored eight offensive points and the Buffalo Bills sacked him four times. If Darnold is not cleared for Sunday as he recovers from mono/an enlarged spleen, Luke Falk (three interceptions and 15 sacks taken over the last two games) would get a third straight start.

A road game against an inferior team has a chance to be tricky for the Cowboys. But the defense would have to lay a real egg to not deliver a good performance, and a high floor plus a incredible ceiling equals the top streaming unit for Week 6.

Others To Consider: Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals; Denver Broncos vs. Tennessee Titans; Washington Redskins at Miami Dolphins; Pittsburgh Steelers at Los Angeles Chargers (Sunday night); Green Bay Packers vs. Detroit Lions (Monday night); Los Angeles Chargers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (check ownership-Sunday night); Miami Dolphins vs. Washington Redskins
