Fantasy Football Week 6 Streamers: QB, TE, Team Defense

Before getting into Week 6’s quarterback, tight end and team defense fantasy streamers, let’s see how Week 5’s streamers did (Yahoo! scoring, 0.5-point PPR).

Quarterback: Sam Howell-26.42 points
Tight End: Jake Ferguson-4.3 points
Team Defense: Detroit Lions-7 points

Now, here are your quarterback, tight end and team defense streamers for Week 6. The Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers are on bye.

Quarterback: Sam Howell, Washington Commanders at Atlanta Falcons

Howell went 37-for-51 for 388 yards with two touchdowns (one interception), 19 rushing yards and a two-point conversion run on his way to 26.42 fantasy points (Yahoo! scoring) in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears. It’s not always pretty for Howell, he’s on pace to be sacked 99 times this season, but in fantasy football terms he’s getting it done.

Howell has thrown for a least 290 yards and topped 19.5 fantasy points in three of his last four games. He has topped 16 points in four of five games this season.

Week 6 is not a great matchup for Howell, as the Atlanta Falcons enter Week 6 in the top-half of the league in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks. But three opposing signal callers have topped 16 fantasy points against them, and four of five have added at little something on the ground (yardage or a touchdown).

Sunday’s Commanders-Falcons game has sneaky potential to be very high-scoring, and despite the hiccups he has had Howell is producing. So I’m going back to the streamer well this week.

Others To Consider: Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals; Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions; Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Commanders; Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars, Joshua Dobbs, Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams

Tight End: Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders at Atlanta Falcons

A Week 2 concussion that cost him Week 3 knocked Thomas off the fantasy radar. In Week 5 against the Chicago Bears he had a breakthrough game, with nine catches (on 11 targets) for 77 yards and a touchdown. There as a near-miss on a downfield pass too.

The Atlanta Falcons are allowing the second-most fantasy points to tight ends so far this season. Three straight tight ends have had a least seven receptions and over 55 yards against them, with two scoring a touchdown and getting double-digit targets. Overall this season, four tight ends have posted double-digit fantasy points in full PPR against Atlanta (all four have had more than nine fantasy points in 0.5-point PPR).

Doubling up on the Commanders this week is a slippery slope. But I can’t ignore Thomas’ great matchup.

Others To Consider: Jonnu Smith, Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Commanders; Zach Ertz, Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams (check availability); Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Detroit Lions; Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans at New Orleans Saints; Tyler Conklin, New York Jets vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Team Defense: Las Vegas Raiders vs. New England Patriots

The Raiders stifled the Green Bay Packers’ offense in Week 5, allowing 13 points while intercepting Jordan Love three times and sacking him twice. They have multiple sacks in four of five games this season, with four takeaways over their last two.

In Week 6, the Raiders will welcome the mess that is the New England Patriots to Allegiant Stadium. The Patriots have scored three points and been shutout in their last two games respectively, with six total turnovers (four interceptions from Mac Jones). In four of five games this season, they have had multiple giveaways while allowing multiple sacks. Defensive touchdowns are inherently random, but it’s still notable there have been four against the Patriots this season.

The Raiders’ defense is rarely, if ever, a good fantasy play. But the matchup this week cannot be ignored, so I’m going a little off the board to make them by top streaming defense for Week 6.
