Fantasy Football:Positional Streamers Week 5

Quarterbacks

Alex Smith-Chiefs

If we only focus on week 4 you’re going to wonder why I’m telling you to stream a QB that couldn’t lead his team to one touchdown this week. Truth is, streamers can’t be choosers.

Alex Smith doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, so he isn’t going to go out there and lose games for you. An important quality in a streamer, furthermore, he threw for a career high of over 360 yards this week.

The lack of touchdowns has to be looked at as no more than an aberration. Coming into week 5 with a matchup against a poor Bears defense I would expect touchdowns to be on the menu in KC next Sunday.

Blake Bortles-Jaguars

Coming off a decent performance last week, Bortles will be a streaming option this week. He goes against the Buccaneers this week, the Bucs have been a mess on defense this season, I would expect Bortles to find holes in their defense and land a couple of deep balls.

Kirk Cousins-Redskins

Okay I get it, he doesn’t have the accuracy that you look for in your QB. He does however have big play ability and a growing rapport with a young WR. Things may be trending in the right direction as he leaves week 4 and heads into week 5.

He finished up last week with 290 yards and 1 TD. He definitely has potential for a multi touchdown game next week, as he plays the Falcons. There is also a good shot they are playing from behind a bunch.

Tight End

Charles Clay-Bills

He makes the list 2 weeks in a row, he did pretty well for us last week if we streamed him, finishing up with 9 receptions for 119 yards. A solid game if I may say so, furthermore, if we streamed him last week he is already on our roster this week. Only someone who has streamed positions can understand and appreciate this, as roster maneuvers can become complicated.

He gets the Titans this week and let’s face it, nobody is running from this defense. I would expect him to have a chance at as many targets this week as he had last week, especially if Watkins is still banged up. So stream him and sit back and enjoy the show.

Owen Daniels-Broncos

Owen Daniels should be a solid streaming option this week. He gets a matchup against the Raiders. The Raiders as a defense have surrendered the most fantasy points to TEs, by far. Any time you can get a TE playing the Raiders, start him with confidence.

Vernon Davis-49ers

I know the 49ers offense has looked horrendous this year. I also know Vernon Davis hasn’t looked that good Either. Notwithstanding those facts, I’m still telling you to start him this week.

The Giants have trouble with TEs that have the ability to make plays down the field. Say what you want about VD, he still understands how to make plays on the ball. Just look at what Charles Clay did to this defense in week 4.

Defense

Jacksonville Jaguars

Believe it or not, the Jaguars have a pretty decent pass defense. We have seen them give some pretty good passing teams headaches. They are always attacking the ball.
This week they get a shot at Jameis Winston.

If you watched any amount of film on Winston, the one thing that stands out in every game, is turnovers. He doesn’t go for regular turnovers either, he likes those big pick 6s. The Jags attack the ball, so I’m expecting that they will force a few turnovers in this one.

New York Giants

I get it, this isn’t the defense you want to own. Seeing them on this list might even leave a sour taste in your mouth. The secondary is banged up, so, why on earth would I suggest this defense to you?

The 49ers offense is clearly the worst offense in the league. Kaepernick is a turnover machine, the 49ers have yet to score more than twenty points on the season. Over the last 2 weeks they have scored a combined total of 10 points. This is a matchup that is hard not to like.
