The Best Fantasy Football Buys and Sells, Week 9

Geared towards redraft, come join me on a trading journey in Week 9.

Buy ‘Em

Raheem Mostert-RB Dolphins

This was a crazy trade deadline week and hearing Jeff Wilson Jr. getting traded to the Dolphins to reunite with Coach McDaniel was one of the big ones. So those that held onto Wilson, good for you, but this is still Mostert’s backfield to lead. I firmly believe that, but there are tons of Wilson truthers out that will tell you differently so go buy Mostert from them. Mostert has 101 attempts through eight games for 452 yards and is averaging 4.5 yards per attempt. I get it those numbers aren’t crazy good, but they will get better. In Week 9 he faces the Bears’ defense that just allowed Pollard to run all over them with 131 yards and three touchdowns. Look for Mostert to bounce back this week, so go grab him before it’s too late. Side note, yesterday on Matthew Berry’s show he played a clip from a Mostert interview on Monday where Mostert apologized for not recognizing the fantasy world. He admitted a lot of teammates have in their starting lineups. He added that gives him motivation and added pressure.

D’Andre Swift RB Lions

Ok, it is obvious that Williams isn’t going anywhere and the Lions’ offensive coaches seem to really love him, so why not go throw some offers out for Swift? This is a gut call that Swift is still RB1 in Detroit and will break off some ridiculous runs soon. I mean he just came back from injury so his snap count was smaller. because they were easing him back in. He is the future of the Lions backfield, so I get it. Even with only five carries, he still scored a touchdown. He did not practice yesterday, so Swift owners might be frustrated. Capitalize on that anger. He most likely was a 1st or 2nd round pick for managers, so offer up a WR2 or RB2 and change and grab him. I am a Swift owner and holding steady. He plays Green Bay, Chicago, and New York Giants in the next three games. I expect him to bounce back in a real way.

Sell ‘Em

Tony Pollard RB Cowboys

You might think I am crazy after Pollard’s utter destruction of Chicago’s defense in Week 8, but Zeke was out and time and time again Jerry Jones has stated Zeke is his guy. Don’t ask me why, I sold all my Zeke shares this summer. He is washed and banged up, but Pollard will not be the starting RB in Dallas if Zeke is still there and playing. Which is both head-scratching and frustrating, but now is the time to maximize on Pollard. Zeke has a bye week to rest and recover and Coach McCarthy has already said it is not serious. An educated guess is that Week eight versus the Bears will be his only missed game. So sell, sell, sell now before he is announced to be suiting up Week ten versus Green Bay.

Brandon Aiyuk WR 49ers

Again, yes I know he just had a great game with 81 yards and a touchdown, but there was no Deebo and CMC is just getting warmed up. I love Aiyuk, but he is going to be the last man up in terms of targets behind Deebo, CMC, and Kittle. There just isn’t enough love to go around. Find a WR-needy team and sell him. He can still be viewed as a WR3/flex option, but with Deebo out last week, he still only saw six targets. That is not enough which is the reason I saw this week is a perfect week to sell him. Don’t let the bye week allow managers to think about it. Sell now, while the 20 pt. PPR score is fresh on their minds!
