The Washington Football team released Dwayne Haskins on Monday.
This stems from Haskins poor play but the main reason he’s been cut is due to his immaturity since entering the league.
It all started in 2019 with the selfie incident.
And it’s been all downhill from there.
A couple of weeks ago Haskins was seen in a strip club, breaking the NFL’s COVID-19 protocals. He was fined heavily for the incident.
Haskins took the high road and apologized for attending the club.
It should be noted that Haskins is catching more heat for being immature than Dan Snyder (the billion-dollar owner) who has fostered an environment that’s rooted in misogyny and sexual harassment but that’s a story for another time.

This should be the end of this chapter of the Dwayne Haskins story. The next chapter should be about him getting a second chance and redeeming himself. Instead, this chapter is being prolonged by talking heads looking to fill TV segments.
Whew, there’s a lot to unpack with this one.
Had Booger framed this from a generational point of view then he might have a leg to stand on. A weak leg but a leg no less. Framing this from the prism of race is wrong and flat out stupid if we’re being blunt.
Did he feel the same when Johny Manziel flunked out of the league? Did he feel the same when Baker Mayfied was out here being immature? I’ve never heard him speak on Ryan Leaf’s work ethic.
For every Jamarcus Russell there’s plenty of black NFL players that have excelled.
We also need to point out the “brand” statement.
The NFL is a brand and that’s based solely on the athletes. Their players generate those billions of dollars…so why is it wrong for them to generate money for themselves? The league is a machine and will chew players out the moment they can’t produce value.
A player should be focused on maximizing their earnings in any legal way possible while they can. This doesn’t mean that they can’t master their craft because they aren’t exclusive, ya know?
Dwayne Haskins didn’t fail because he was building a brand. He failed because, like many rookies, don’t realize what it takes to be a professional NFL player.

Aaron Donald is the best defensive tackle in the league and it seems that every summer video leaks of him doing some insane workout.
Dwayne Haskins is immature. That’s all there is to this story. No need to dig for something that’s not there.
