Aqib Talib is mostly known for one of the greatest moments in NFL history that I’m proud to have watched in real time.
Ah yes, a good old fashioned chain snatchin’
So nice Talib did it twice.
I won’t go into to many details because I’ve already talked about snatchin’ chains earlier this year. Just know it’s in the top three most disrepectful things you can to do another man. It’s a sign that they think so little of you that they can take something wrapped around your neck without punishment.
Anywho, Aqib is more reserved now and has started his career as a color commentator. A good one at that.

In all seriousness; Aqib’s point of view, especially breaking down coverages in real-time was great to hear. He brings insight and a voice that does not exist in any broadcast booth.

Since Aqib is different than any other broadcaster there are, of course, a lot of people who have something to say about it.
For the most part these are just jokes and should be treated as such but there’s another part of this group that seemed to be rather harsh and even questioned Aqib’s intellegence.
Is there a deeper conversation here about race and how that plays in some of this “criticism?” Absolutely. We’ll save that for another day though.
We’re going to keep this at face value and it goes a little something like this.
If you’re out in these Twitter streets criticizing Talib then you’re a hating a** mark who doesn’t like to have fun. That comes from the same level of disrespect as a chain snatchin’. I don’t make the rules.
You’re the friend who wonders why big man touchdowns are adored. You’re the friend that plays with the Chiefs in Madden because you’re lazy.
I’m going to post a video. One person enjoys Talib and the other is a hater. Take a wild guess at who the hater is.
Is he a little rough around the edges? Yup, but that’s what makes him fun. Knowing at any moment he could drop an F-bomb is edge-of-your-seat entertainment.
There’s an argument that he’s taking a job from someone who has studied broadcasting. Talib hasn’t done the work and isn’t qualified.
AND?
LOOK AT THIS LIST. HOW CAN YOU NOT HAVE FUN?!
When Louis Riddick leaves the MNF booth for a GM job the only smart replacement is Talib.
