Four Down Territory: Week 4

Another week has wrapped so that means another healthy serving of 4DT. Let’s get to it.

1st Down: Paging Arizona and Carolina, can anyone find them? After four weeks both teams are 1-3 and are hanging out at the bottom of their divisions. Both teams were supposed to be the cream of the crop in the NFC but it looks like the changing of the guard happened overnight. For Carolina it seems that the hunter has now become the hunted. Arizona? You got me. I picked them to go to the Super Bowl but with every passing week I’m distancing myself from that pick. Carson Palmer’s decline was inevitable but to go out like this? C’mon, Carson, you’re better than that, right?

2nd Down: Yo, Jets. What are you doing? It’s only week four and Fitzpatrick has thrown a seasons worth of interceptions. I don’t know what more you need to see but just in case you forgot let’s rewind the tape. While we’re on the subject of forgetfulness do you remember that Geno Smith is still wearing a Jets uniform? I’m not a gambling man but I can bet that he won’t throw six interceptions in one game. Besides, what do you have to lose?

3rd Down: A few weeks ago I appeared on the Pay Me No Mind Podcast and we talked about A.J. Green and Antonio Brown as the best receivers in the NFL. My bad, Julio, I didn’t mean to be disrespectful. We saw you go off for 12 catches and 300 yards against Carolina. I’ll never ever ever say your name again without putting the utmost respect on it. Forgive me.

4th Down: Shhhhhhhh, you hear that? It’s Patriots fans rejoicing that Tom Brady is done with his suspension and deflategate as a whole. The Patriots managed to go 3-1 in his absence and now that the golden goose is back we can expect New England to start their yearly march to a division title. The only thing that can stop them is Gronk‘s hamstring.

Extra Tidbits: It’s only week four and already the Giants locker room is imploding. The Rams are 3-1 and LEADING the division. The Chargers need to do Rivers a favor and trade him. Sammy Sleeves isn’t the quarterback Minnesota deserves, it’s the one they need. If the NFL really wants to expand to London then they need to stop sending those bad games across the pond. It’s time to start Kap, period.
