Last Second Fantasy Questions Answered by @Goingfor_2 Experts

Hows it going everyone, Mr. Fantasy Dimes here, I’ve been getting the same set of questions asked repeatedly so I figured perhaps more of you all need these answers as well. I asked several of the experts here at goingfor2.com to get you a better-rounded answer to these questions. Enjoy!

Q. I have Leonard Fournette, do I play him week 1?

A. Yes. You play him because he’s the best back there, and should see mostly non stacked boxes all day. He should get a goal-line carry or 2 as well. He’s a flex with upside start. –@EagleDanFF

A. No on Fournette..not only do the Saints have a nasty front seven but last year they were behind only Tampa Bay in rushing yards allowed *86.9* –@neverenoughglt

A. Fournette, I have on the bench. Look, the saints run defense is good and Jones is still their guy. – @Yetiexpress2

A. If your league is one that drafted early and you took Fournette as your RB2, or god forbid, your RB1, then yes, you’re going to have to ride or die with him Week 1. If you drafted later, you probably have better options. – @GeoffLambert77

A. Fournette has less than a week to try and learn the playbook and his place amongst 4 other backs. However, the coach said that he was going to have a role week 1, and to me, that means he is going to handle goal-line carries, as he should. If I had him, I would play him. – @mrfantasydimes

Q. Can we expect a Cam – James White connection right away?

A. With no preseason, I would take it slow on any new QB making connection right away. – @neverenoughglt

A. I think James White is the back we can trust the most in New England, mostly where he has full point ppr. Would I trust him its a big question mark, my gut says yes. – @Yetiexpress2

A. Cam has never been a “check down” quarterback. Yes, I know he had CMC last year, but CMC is the exception, not the rule. I think Newton looks to air it out vertically and that’s what I expect Bill Belichick to allow him to do. White is still viable in PPR, but I think he lost value with the Tom Brady to Newton transition. – @GeoffLambert77

A. No. Brady and White developed chemistry over several years. It will take more than a shortened offseason to develop anything close to that level. – @EagleDanFF

A. While I think Cam is still a good quarterback, this shortens offseason makes me think that his playbook won’t be as big as it can be later on. That said, it should result in a bunch of dump-offs and check downs to James White. Or a bunch of bad throws and turnovers, Cam is boom or bust at this point in his career. – @mrfantasydimes

Q. Which defense has the most upside this week?

A. There are two defenses I think should be on everyone’s list. The Eagles against the Washington Football Team and the Colts vs the #TankForTrevor Jags. I actually have the Colts as a Top 5 defense this year. – @GeoffLambert77

A. These are the defenses I think have the most upside week 1. Chargers Defense vs Cincinnati, playing defense against a first game rookie quarterback always has the potential to be lucrative. Colts Defense vs Jags, Jaguars aren’t very good and will be turnover prone. Lastly, Philly Defense vs Was, how good Haskins is is still up in the air and with no clear cut running back star to keep defenses honest. Look for the Philly defense to sit back and make Haskins try and beat them with the passing game. – @mrfantasydimes

A. Chiefs, as they will be facing the Hopkins-less Texans. Watson can be expected to throw a couple of picks, so the upside to this defense is high. –@EagleDanFF

A. Colts v Jags, but don’t sleep on Chargers v rookie quarterback with a shaky o-line. – @neverenoughglt

A. I think Philly has the biggest upside. Washington is horrible and Phillys Defensive is actually good. Haskins is still bad in my opinion, so all things point to Philly. – @Yetiexpress2
