LOL DFS – LPL & LCK Value Meter (4/11/20)

Value is the name of the game and the game with the name is League of Legends. Got it? Well if you don’t then let me break it down a bit. Tomorrow we have a DFS slate on DraftKings and it’s for a game called League of Legends (LOL) which I am sure you have heard all about by now. And that slate contains 5 total series (best of 3 games) which more specifically has 3 coming out of the LPL (China) and 2 coming out of the LCK (Korea). Got it?

And now that we all fully understand what’s going on here we can move on to more pressing matters. Like what exactly an LOL DFS Value Meter is. Well I’m glad you asked because it’s actually really simple. I’m going to write two value stacks I love from tomorrow’s DraftKings slate and then maybe I’ll include a few one-offs if you’re lucky. So let’s get down like a clown Charlie Brown because it’s time to go to town.

Value Stacks:

Stack #1 – LGD: If you read previous value articles by me you would know that LGD is one of my staple picks because of their “newish” roster which now includes Killua. The former Rogue Warriors support has changed things around massively for LGD as they have won 3 of their last 4 series with Killua as their support. And guess who they just beat? Oh yea it was ummm RNG (7-5) in a 2-0 sweep as +385 betting underdogs so just know that they have been in this position before and crushed.

But it’s more than just the win over RNG. LGD actually still has a shot to make the LPL playoffs even with their abysmal 4-7 record currently. And even better, their matchup tomorrow vs OMG (7-5) can help immensely with those playoff hopes.

And finally let’s talk about the roster and their recent performances. Kramer (ADC) averages 78.8 DraftKings points per series so far this split which is 19.7 DraftKings points higher than the opposing ADC in SmLz. And this is actually a trend across the board as Peanut (71.1), Yuuki (69.5), Lies (54.2) and Killua (72.4) all average more DraftKings points per series compared to OMG’s starting lineup.

DFS Plays: Peanut ($6,000), Killua ($4,800), Kramer ($6,600) & Yuuki ($6,400)

Stack #2 – APK:
My guys over at APK Prince may be out of the playoffs but they still need to keep fighting to avoid relegation. And if you don’t know what relegation is then just know you don’t want to be in the bottom 2 of the LCK standings because you could end up getting knocked down into the challenger series. Think of it like the 2 worst MLB teams playing the 2 best AAA teams in a tournament with the 2 best teams being MLB teams. Kind of cool right?

Well not if you are one of those bottom 2 teams which means that APK is going to continue fighting to avoid it. And they basically have 2 games left to get ’er done which means this match tomorrow vs HLE (5-10) is going to be huge. Sure HLE is coming off a dominant victory over AF but let’s be honest, that was only their second victory in their last 8 series. APK on the other hand has won 3 of their last 5 series which to me smells like a last ditch effort to stay in the LCK for next split.

And they have done this mainly on the back of HyBrid (ADC) who has dropped 100+ DraftKings points per series in APK’s recent wins over KT, AF and SB. Other players like ikssu (top) have impressed as well with 80+ DraftKings points per series in those wins. Then there’s Flawless (jng) who has dropped performances of 99.5 DraftKings points (v AF) and 101.5 DraftKings points (v KT). And that’s really it for me as guys like Cover (mid) and Secret (support) are too inconsistent for my taste. Sure it’s not a full-value stack but it is a stack nonetheless.

DFS Plays: ikssu ($5,800), HyBrid ($6,800), Flawless ($5,800)

One-Offs:

1) Haro (RW, $5,400) – I’m a bit shocked he is the cheapest jungler on the entire slate especially after you factor in him scoring 101.1 DraftKings points per series over his last 3. And that wasn’t versus any trash opponents either as he did this against Vici, TES and BLG. The best part about Haro is the champions he plays which have recently been picks like Elise, RekSai, Graves, Lee Sin and even Nidalee. These champions are heavy kill champions that show Haro is trying to carry his team and not support them like some junglers do. Yes he has a tough matchup with RNG tomorrow but so did Peanut (LGD) last time out and look at his point total which was 100.8 DraftKings points. Sneaky MVP play if you are trying to take down a GPP.

2) Missing (WE, $5,000) – I really didn’t think I would tout a support as a one-off but Missing didn’t really give me a choice. He’s dropped 79.925 DraftKings points per series over his last 4 and that’s insanely impressive for a guy who is only $5k on tomorrow’s slate. If anyone wanted a value number it’s around 15.985 which is well you know pretty darn good. And he gets a matchup with eStar who has been on a bit of a skid lately losing 3 series in a row to RNG, JDG and VG. Throw in that Missing and WE are coming off a 2-1 series win over TES and you understand why I’m so high on Missing on tomorrow’s DraftKings Slate.
