NBA FANDUEL 2/10/15

Mo Williams traded, changed my lineup to account for the trade

I’m back! Miss me? Hope everyone has had a chance to look at the CVP chart, if not you can check it out here. There is one small issue about the chart. The stats that I pull everyday don’t normally post until 1am Pacific Time, and I live on the East Coast.

Since I must have access to my desktop in order to post the newest chart with today’s players, there may be some days the chart won’t go up until later in the day. Some days I may not be able to get it up at all since I have to contend with my work schedule.

I’m working on a way to have the chart show all players, and not just the players for that day. The site I pull all my stats from only lists the players for that day. I’m able to merge each days tables together, but I’m running into the issue of duplicate names. If say, Anthony Davis plays tonight and tomorrow night, when I merge those 2 charts together I end up with 2 Anthony Davis’s.

If anyone is familiar with “Numbers for Mac”, or even Excel,  know a way to eliminate this issue, please let me know. I want it to be able to overwrite the older data on a player, and continue to add players that to that point haven’t played. Eventually I could get a compete list of players.

In the meantime, what I’m going to do is leave a weeks worth of tables with the dates on the Page. If you use the search field on the tables, finding a player you are looking for shouldn’t be too hard. If he played 2 nights ago, just go to that nights table and type in his name.

Ok, enough about all that, let’s get into the good stuff. I’ve been a little out of the loop over the weekend and even through Monday, so I’m still catching up on all the injuries and news from around the league. I have created my Top 10 for tonight, and I have a few Dunks and Passes as well.

I may add some more Dunks and Passes after I post my CVP chart for tomorrows games. Until then, we have 5 games on today’s slate to look at.

With the smaller slate, some of the guys in the Top 10 will be guys that wouldn’t normally make the Top 10, but I work with what I got.

TODAY’S TOP 10 PLAYS

Love our content? Check out the GoingFor2 Live Podcast Network!

10) SF Gerald Henderson Perfect example of a guy that would never make a Top 10 on a full slate, but at $5700 he is 4th in terms of price for small forwards. His baseline  is 25.5FDP, which he has exceeded that over his last 4 games. Detroit is bottom 10 in terms of defense versus the small forward position. He should easily reach his baseline and exceed it considerably.

9) C Joakim Noah Another guy that wouldn’t make a Top 10 most nights. Noah’s baseline  production is 30.5, a number he has achieved in 4 of his last 6 games. The Kings are bottom 5 versus the center position and not much better versus the power forward spot either. Whichever spot Noah plays in, he should be able to reach his baseline. I’m expecting 30-35 points.

8) PF Kenneth Faired Faired missed a game with an illness and then played with said illness the next night, and played badly. Since then, he has played above his value of 28FDP in each of his last 3 games, and now he gets the depleted front line of the Lakers. Should be a cake walk to 28+.

7) PG Ty Lawson I debated over this play for a while, and I don’t feel really good about putting him in the Top 10. He is one of the few guys on this list with a plus CVP, meaning he hasn’t been reaching his value. In fact, the last time he was worth what you had to pay for him was way back on January 25th, versus the Wizards, in which he scored 56FDP. That’s 9 games ago! His baseline is 38 at his current price, and the only reason he makes the Top 10 is the Lakers are on the schedule. Play with caution.

6) C Al Jefferson A mainstay in the Top 10, even though he has been up and down as of late. Detroit over the last 3 weeks is dead last in defense versus the center position, and second to last is nearly 3 full points away. Al’s baseline is set at 37FDP and should have no trouble getting that.

5) PF Zach Randolph I debated leaving him off the list due to the fact he hasn’t reached his value in the last 4 games. His baseline is set at 39FDP, but his matchup says he should be able to make up the difference. The Nets are bottom 8 in defense versus position, and it wasn’t that long ago that Z-bow was putting up 40 point nights. I think he gets back to it at home tonight.

4) Jimmy Butler Butler’s baseline looked a little high when I first looked at it, until I looked at his game log. This guy really flies under the radar with Gasol and Rose, but has quietly become a Fanduel superstar. Four of his last five he has reached his value, and the Kings are dead last in defense versus the shooting guard position. As long as the Bulls don’t blow-out the Kings, Butler should have no trouble reaching his 39.5 baseline.

3) DeMarcus Cousins I have a hard time keeping a straight face when someone calls him Boogie, since that’s what my wife and I call our 2-year-old daughter. I guess it’s like calling a 400 pound mobster “Tiny”, don’t question it,  just get out of his way and let him do work.  His baseline is high at 48.5 and the Bulls are a tough matchup, but dude seems a little upset lately with the way his team has played, so get out of his way and let him do work.

2)  Pau Gasol Pau makes it 4 players from the same game in the Top 10. Stacking lineups anyone? As I mention with Noah, the Kings don’t defend anyone on the front line, or the back court for that matter. Plug in Gasol and watch him reach his baseline of 44.

1) James Harden He has a ridiculous baseline of 50.5FDP! With that said, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t get 60. The Suns play very well at home, and they play very fast with a lot of possessions. Harden will get a ton of opportunities to put up big numbers. Suns are bottom 10 in defending shooting guards and after tonight’s game, they’ll be even worse.

For those wondering where I’m getting these baselines from, please read this.

Moving right along:

TODAY’S DUNKS AND PASSES

Dunks

  • PG Jordan ClarksonDUNK OF THE NIGHT Clarkson has a (-5.03) CVP, which means over his last 5 games he has been well worth his price. His CVP would be much higher if it wasn’t for the one game versus MIL in which he only got 6 FDP. NO reason to think Clarkson can’t be above his baseline again versus Denver.

  • PG Brian Roberts He has a +2.5 CVP which at first glance you don’t love, but he is being brought down by 2 bad games in his last 5. His baseline is 22, which should be obtainable.

SG KCP Yeah, I’m not spelling it, sue me. His current CVP is +1.23, but if you really look at it, it’s much better. 2 of his last five games he was injured, one of them he played only 3 minutes, and the other he was limited due to the injury. His baseline at his current price is 22 points, the 3 games in which he has gotten 30 minutes over his last 5, he has gotten 24, 30, and 48. Well over his baseline.

SF Trevor Ariza He has been on a tear lately, and his cost hasn’t caught up to him yet. His current baseline is at 24.77, which has he easily reached over his last 4 games. The Suns like to run and score, The Rockets will have to score to keep up.

PF Ed Davis The Lakers have a very depleted team and Ed Davis is capitalizing on the minutes he has been given recently. His baseline is 24.7 but his CVP over his last 5 is at a very nice (-2.63). So almost a full 3 points over his baseline.

C Robert Sacre Minuted are a bit inconsistent and so is his production, but when given the opportunity he has delivered. I think I would use him more in a GPP over a 50/50, but his CVP is at a whopping (-4.08). Great value!

PASSES

PG Goran Dragic PASS OF THE NIGHT A whopping 3 PG’s make today’s pass list. Starting with Dragic who is at a +6.43! Meaning he would have to score 6.5 more points over his 5 game average just to reach his baseline value. No thanks.

Derrick Rose Ok, I’m off the Derrick Rose is back bandwagon. He is still a good player on a good team, he just isn’t MVP Derrick Rose. His CVP is at +3.34, which isn’t horrible, but not good either.

Mike Conely At a +4.63 CVP and being on a team where he is a 3rd option at best, no thanks.

Markieff Morris Currently at a +4.83, his value has plummeted faster then his price tag. Scoring in the teens over his last 2, with a baseline at 28! I’m passing on him today.

That wraps up today’s Dunk’s and Passes. I’ll post my current lineup now, but be sure to check back with me as it may be updated based on news from today. So….
