NBA Fanduel Line-up Advice and Analysis for 4/1/15

NBA Fanduel Line-up Advice 4/1/15
NBA Games for 4/1/15

The NBA Fanduel season is winding down, and I’m dreading it. I’m not much of a baseball fan, so I’m not sure what I’m going to do to get my DFS fix during the summer. Maybe I’ll have to start studying baseball, and play a bunch of free leagues for the first couple months until I get a feel for it?

Before we get to that time though, we still have some NBA left, and tonight’s slate is huge. It’s your typical Wednesday night slate with 12 games on the docket. My Top Ten started off as a Top 16! I had to really split hairs to narrow it down to only 10 players. I’m going to put up the Top Ten first, and at some point today I’ll put up the Dunks, Passes, and Punts.

Today’s Top Ten Plays

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
DeMar DeRozan

10) SG DeMar DeRozan $8000 Coming of a career game for him, and putting up 54.7 Fanduel points, he has to be in my Top Ten. His reward tonight? The worst team versus the shooting guard spot over the last 3 weeks. At $8000, his baseline value is at 36 Fanduel points. He’ll be in the low 40’s as long as their isn’t a blow-out.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
LaMarcus Aldridge

9) PF LaMarcus Aldridge $9300 I read a stat today that’s pretty crazy. 6 of the Blazers last 10 games are against teams on the second game of a back to back. That streak started the other night versus the Suns, and we saw how well that went for the Suns. They ran out of gas. The Clippers will be coming off a game with Golden State. The game hasn’t quite tipped off yet, but I expect it to stay close, so no 4th quarter rest for them. Aldy had 40 against them last game, I expect 40 to be his minimum expectation tonight.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
Rudy Gobert

8) C Rudy Gobert $8700 Every chance I get to work in the nickname, The Stifle Tower, I’m going to take it. That has to be one of the best nicknames in sports right now. He had a decent game against Denver just a few games ago putting up 14 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Having only 1 block though kept him under 40 Fanduel points. I’m expecting simliar scoring and rebounding numbers, but I expect 3 or 4 blocks to go along with it.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
Tyreke Evans

7) PG Tyreke Evans $7900 The hope of making the playoffs is running low in New Orleans, but they aren’t out of it yet. The Lakers are the worst team versus opposing point guards on the season, and I expect Brow and Tyreke to really take it to them tonight. Tyreke had an off game last time out, but he’ll get back on track. Who is going to stop him? Jordan Clarkson?

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
Reggie Jackson

6) PG Reggie Jackson $8400 He had an off night versus Atlanta, but he had strung together 5 straight 40+ point nights previous. He “off” night still netted you 31 Fanduel points. The Hornets present a good match-up for him as well. They give up nearly a double double to points guards over the last 3 weeks(per 48 minutes).

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
Brook Lopez

5) C Brook Lopez $8200 How good has this guy been lately? Every game he plays just start to adding another half mil to his eventual contract next year, whoever he ends up playing for. New York is bottom 6 versus the center position over the last 3 weeks, and the Knicks have nothing to play for. The Nets, on the other hand, are fighting for a playoff spot. Expect Brook to be mid to high 40’s tonight. On another note, speaking of nicknames, have you heard his? Bro-Lo. Awful. Sounds like he belongs on Jersey Shore.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
Russell Westbrook

4) PG Russell Westbrook $12700 This is as low as I have had him in a long time, and it has nothing to do with his play, I just like the 3 guys above him a little more. Westbrook has been so good, did you realize that he had 46 and 58 Fanduel points in his last 2 games, and his price went down $100! When a guy gets high 50’s and you’re disappointed, you know he had been playing out of his mind. As a Pels fan, I hope he runs out of gas down the stretch, but as a DFS fan he checks in at #4 today.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
Chris Paul

3) PG Chris Paul $10400 He is coming off the first game of a back to back last night versus the Warriors, but I still put him at the number 3 spot tonight. Why? Chris can get you 50 Fanduel points and not really have to score much. He could easily dish out 16 assists, have 15 points, 3 steals and grab 5 rebounds and barely break a sweat.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
James Harden

2) SG James Harden $11500 Harden likes to play the Kings. He had a game of 55 and a game of 66 against them this year. I’m expecting his totals tonight to fall somewhere in the middle, so maybe 60 Fanduel points tonight.

NBA Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis 4/1/15
Anthony Davis

1) PF Anthony Davis $12300 With 4 straight 50+ games(ok, one was 49.8) how could he not be number 1? The Lakers are still bad and the Pels are fighting for a playoff spot. I’m going to make a bold prediction here and set his over/under tonight at 65, and I’m taking the over.

Putting this up a little later than I expected to today, but here we go.

Honorable Mentions

  • PF Nikola Mirotic $7500
  • PG Elfrid Payton $7500
  • PG Jordan Clarkson $7300
  • C DeMarcus Cousins $11400 (assuming he plays)
  • PG Kemba Walker $8400
  • SF Gordon Hayward $8300

Dunks of the Night

  • PF Thad Young  $5900 Played decent last night in his first game back from injury. The important to note is he played nearly 40 minutes, so there is no minutes restriction.
  • PG Zach LaVine $5700 Great value at a very deep point guard position tonight. I you want to spend up in one of the more shallow positions, he is your ticket to do that.
  • SG Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Been playing well lately, and has a great price tag.
  • PF Marvin Williams $4600 As long as he starts for the injured Zeller again, he will be a good play.
  • SF Chase Budinger $5100 Actually had a decent game versus a great defense, the Jazz, last night. He gets the Raptors tonight, a team not known for defense.
  • C Jonas Valanciunas $6200 Five straight games with 27 or more Fanduel points and a great match-up.

Passes of the Night

  • PF Nerlens Noel $8400 Bad match-up with Washington.
  • C Al Jefferson $7400 A shell of himself the past to games. Not getting big minutes, and has bad knees.
  • PF Tim Duncan $7300 Be wary of all Spurs today with the 2nd game of a back to back. Even if they don’t rest, they will limit their minutes in a blow-out.

Punts of the Night

  • PF Tarik Black $4200 He has been usable, but very limited upside.
  • SG Nik Stauskas $3700 A super punt here, but he will get 20+ minutes and he does enough to reach value.
  • PG Pablo Prigoni $3600 His minutes have gone up over his season average since Beverly went down. Jason Terry starts at the point, but he his like 90 years old, Pablo needs to get court time for 2 reasons. They need a fresh Jason Terry in the playoffs, and they’ll be forced to use Pablo in key situations in the playoffs, get him the experience now.
  • PF Ryan Kelly $4300 Starting and getting minutes. He could fall into 11 points 8 rebounds.

That’ll wrap up today’s post. I may take tomorrow off from writing a complete post since there is only 3 games on the docket, though they are 3 games with some star power. I’ll still send out a few players under the radar that I like at some point.
