NBA Fanduel Lineup 1/23/15

Getting the post up early today, unfortunately another near miss last night. Nicholas Batum got hurt, otherwise my lineup would have made the cut, just missing by 4 points. The blowout in Chicago didn’t help either, most of the Bulls starters didn’t play much in the 4th quarter.

A bunch of games on the slate tonight. 11 to be exact. A couple of the games are good match ups to exploit for fantasy. Magic vs Knicks is a good one. Raptors vs 76ers and Spurs vs Lakers are 2 others.

I’m in a mini slump having lost the last 2 nights by the narrowest of margins, but I have a good feeling about tonight’s lineup.

  • Derrick Rose looked like Derrick Rose last night versus the Spurs. If he continues to do what he did versus the Spurs, he won’t stay at this price range very long. His FDP last night coulda been a lot higher if the Spurs had made it a game. Use him while he is still relatively cheap.

Elfrid Paton is my value play of the night. With Melo back in the lineup in New York, the Knicks should be able to make it a game. That means Elfrid should get 35+ minutes and have no trouble getting to 30+ FDP.

  • I had this post all written last night, and I was taking Harden at this spot. This morning when I got up and looked at it again, I didn’t like how weak I was at other positions because I was spending so much on Harden.

I think the combo of Klay and Oladipo will have a better night combined then Harden and a much cheaper option. Klay has been rolling, and should continue to do so at home versus the Kings tonight.

Victor Oladipo has been ballin’ in the month of January. Only 3 times with less then 30 FDP. That’s 3 times in 10 games. And those 3 games were 28,25, and 27, so even at his worst, he wasn’t bad. Just like I mentioned with Payton, Knicks should keep it close enough that Oladipo should get his 35 minutes.

  • At small forward are two players that could be affected by a blowout. Both on opposite ends of the blowout. Spurs play L.A., but I expect, even in a potential blowout, Kawhi should have a really good game here. Returning home after getting blasted by the Bulls, Kawhi is going to come out and take this game over.

Covington could be on the other end of a blowout, but the Raptors defense isn’t very good, so I expect Covington to be able to put up plenty of points. I would say playing at home could help, but it’s the 76ers, they could play at my local court versus my friends and I, and they still wouldn’t be any better.

  • At power forward, Taj is pretty much a must start value play until either his price goes up, or Noah comes back from injury. With 36 and 34 FDP in the last 2, he should continue with that kind of production in Dallas. Take him every night until his price gets over 6K.

Davis West is the “do everything” guy for Indiana, and I think he still gets up when the Heat are on the schedule. Even if the they aren’t playing for a chance to go to the Finals, there is still bad blood and plenty of motivation here. Expect the veteran to come out and lead his team with a good game.

  • There isn’t a lot of good inexpensive options at center tonight. The center position in general is very top heavy. If you aren’t taking one of the top guys, then you’re taking a hit or miss guy. Spurs play a big lineup, so they’ll need Jordan Hill to play big minutes, especially with Black expected to miss this game. When he has been given the minutes, he has preformed.

Good Luck Guys!
