NBA Fanduel Lineup 2/19/15 **update**

NBA Fanduel Lineup for 2/19/15
NBA Fanduel Lineup for 2/19/15

** updated lineup** take Diaw out, put in ur choice of Collison or McGary. I’m using both in different lineups. One LU, I’m using both. **

The good news is the NBA is back! The bad news for Fanduel players is it’s only a 2 game slate. It’s just an appetizer for tomorrow’s huge slate of games. With only 2 games doing a Top Ten or my usual Dunks and Passes segment seems a bit frivolous, since the slate of players is so small.

Instead, I’m going to post Tonight’s Starting 9 and give my narrative on each player. I’m writing this post Tuesday night, so some things could change between now and then, so check back with me and see if I make any changes.

Before I post my Starting 9 I’d like to point out some of the new features I’ve been working on over the break. First off is the forums, which is fairly vacant at the moment, only having a hand-full of subscribers. Please take a second and register, I’ve even made it so you can register with your Facebook account, making it as simple as 2 clicks. You can register by clicking register for the forums.

I’m also beta testing a projection model, similar to the CVP chart in design. It will basically use a number of factors, including but not limited to; season average, last 5 game average, ceiling and floor scores, pace, usage, and defense versus position. I’m conditioning it so that its compatible with dailyfantasynerd.com‘s optimizer. When it is finished, you should be able to copy/paste my chart, drop it into dailyfantasynerds optimizer, set the different parameters(exclude, include, etc), and it will spit back a few different optimal lineups based on my projection chart.

It might be a few days before I have that up and running. I want to test it against some live NBA games first. I did some historical tests, taking old games and plugging in my projections, running the optimizer, and so far have had good results. So keep an eye out for that. So let’s get to why you’re here.

TODAY’S STARTING 9

Russell Westbrook As I’ve mention many times before, my strategy on small slates is to pick my Studs first and then build down from there. My 3 Studs tonight are Westy, Durant, and Jordan. In the month of February, Westbrook has one game under 40, and in that game he still had 36. Some of those games Durant played in and some he didn’t, so his value may increase when Durant’s out, but doesn’t go down much even when Durant plays. Even with Rondo back to play some defense, no one can stop Westbrook.

Tony Parker I’ve already had to make a change. I had Barea in this spot an hour ago, and then I got the news that Rondo would play, so I don’t trust Barea anymore. Tony Parker is actually a better bet then Barea was originally, but I couldn’t fit his salary in. With the Rondo news, I had to rearrange my whole lineup to fit Parker in. Parker has been finally getting the minutes he is costume too, and is beginning to look more like the Parker of old. The All-Star break gave him some time to rejuvenate and hopefully we will see a different Tony in he second half of the season, starting Thursday night in LA.

Marco Belineli Typically Belineli wouldn’t crack anyone’s Fanduel Lineup, but when you have only 2 NBA games on the slate, what are you gonna do? At $4200 his baseline for production is 19 Fanduel points. He is definitely capable of getting you that, but not much more.

JJ Redick His last game before the All-Star break he played a ton of minutes, so it would seem his back issues are behind him for now. With the extended time off, he should be able to give the Clippers high 30’s in terms of minutes again. The Clippers are extremely shallow and will have Reddick on the court a lot. I expect him to have a nice game here. 25-30 Fanduel points.

Kevin Durant Lets hope for the sake of the NBA and for Fanduel purposes that Durant’s bothersome toe is fine now. After coming back from the toe injury, Durant hasn’t had less than 40 Fanduel points, and has actually increased his totals in each game. The Mavericks actually play the SF position tough, but come on, this is Durant we are talking about.

Al-Farouq Aminu He falls into the same class as Belineli, but on small slates you’re gonna have guys like this, especially when you take 3 top-tier studs. His sweet spot seems to be 25 minutes, because over his last 10 games, when he has received 25 or more minutes, he averages 1 FDP per minute played. When he gets under 25 minutes, his production drops to .7 points per minute. Which doesn’t seem like much, but over 25 minutes it’s the difference between 25 points and 17 points. Let’s hope he gets over 25 minutes.

Dirk Nowitzki Dirk is no longer the Dirk of old, now he is just old Dirk, but is he fairly consistent. The biggest fear with Dirk is the “rest game” factor, but being the first game back from a week off, I’ll go out on a limb and say we should be ok to play him. Normally I would avoid Dirk, because I think he is over priced. His baseline to reach value is 29 Fanduel points, a number he has reached only 3 times over his last 10 games. Without any better options, unless you want to use Ibaka here, Dirk is who I’m rolling with.

Boris Diaw I feel like I’m saying this a lot, but Diaw is one of those short slate guys again. His baseline is set at 17.5, which he can definitely get, but he could also get you 9. I believe this lineup hinges on Diaw. If Diaw can get us 18-20 I feel confident we can win some 50/50’s.

DeAndre Jordan Dude had 20 and 20 two games straight right before the All-Star break, and as long as Blake is out, he could do that every night. He had 62 versus them last time, granted Tyson Chandeler left that game early, so I’m not expecting that, but I’ll take 50.

That wraps up the post for today. So glad the NBA is back. I don’t know what I’m going to do in July and August. Maybe I’ll learn baseball.

Gotta start research for Friday’s slate now, might take me a few days.
