NBA Fanduel Lineup and Advice for 2/21/15

Fanduel NBA Lineup for Tonight 2/21/15
NBA Games for 2/21/12

The late games are still going on as I start to write this, but it’s looking good for my lineup tonight in all my Fanduel 50/50 games, barring a huge game from someone. Hope everyone fared well tonight, and are ready to move on to an 5 game NBA Saturday.

Not quite as small as Thursday night, and nowhere near as large as last night, but still small enough to make things difficult. The sweet spot for me is between 7-9 games, but since we have 5 tonight, I’ll have to work with what I got.

While doing my research tonight, I came to the conclusion that there won’t be a Dunks and Passes segment today. Not that I don’t want to do one, there just wasn’t enough names to make it worth it. Going through the players to write my Dunks, and in the end I had one name written down when I finished. Trevor Ariza. That was the entire Dunks list. The pass list was even worse, there were no top-tier players I felt strongly enough to Pass on.

So I’ll just be doing a Top 10 plays tonight, and because tonight’s slate is so Top heavy, it may look like I just took the top guys at every position. Tonight will be a tough night to figure out due to the lack of value, you’re probably going to have to take one or more fliers.

TODAY’S TOP 10 PLAYS

10) SF Rudy Gay $7200 His game is still going on as I write this, so my opinion could change if he has a horrendous night under new head coach Karl. So barring a terrible night, I like Rudy here versus the Clippers who are dead last versus the SF position, and are just as bad at PF now that Gay will play this position as well. The Clippers are short-handed on an already shallow team. He may not reach his baseline of 32.5, but on a small slate, he won’t have too. I expect 25-35.

9) SG DeMar DeRozan $6900 Coming off a big game and a big win over the Hawks in Atlanta, what’s not to love about him. At $6900 is baseline is at 31, a number he has reached in 4 straight games. Couple that with the fact that Houston is second to last defending SG over the last 3 weeks, you end up with my number 9 Play.

8) C Joakim Noah $6800 I had him as a Top Play yesterday, and no one took me seriously. He didn’t disappoint getting his baseline at just under 31 points. Not exactly jump off the page numbers, but good enough. He’ll have a chance to put up even bigger numbers tonight versus the Suns strictly based on volume. The Suns play fast, and shoot a lot, which translates into more possessions and rebounding opportunities. I expect 30-38 from him tonight.

7) PG Derrick Rose $7000 A lot of people were on the Derrick Rose band wagon yesterday, and why not? He went into the All-Star break hot, and everyone expected that to continue. I’d been burned by Rose before, and I stayed away. Tonight though, I think he and the Bulls will be looking to rebound, and Rose can shine in this type of faster paced game. The Bulls will want to slow it down, and control pace, but will allow Rose to at least explore pushing it down the court. His baseline is at 31.5, which before yesterday seemed like a cake walk. I’ll be happy if he can get me 30-35.

6) PF Pau Gasol $9700 Third straight Bull in the Top 10, I guess you know which game I’m targeting tonight. It was a tough night for all the Bulls players last night. They get to come home and regroup, and I expect them to beat the small Suns team to a pulp. Anything less than 40 will be a disappointment.

5) PG Russell Westbrook $11000 If we were playing pick up ball, and I was making a Top 10 of players I’d want on my team, Russell would be number 1 on this list. Dude is a beast. So why 5th you ask? There is 11 thousand reasons why he is fifth, as in his salary. On a small slate, with little value, there isn’t much room for an $11000 salary. He might get you 50 again, but if you have to downgrade 2 other positions, and they get u 10 each, it’s not worth it. You could easily get 3 lesser players give you 25 each. With that said, Westbrook is a good GPP play because I don’t think he’ll be heavily owned with that salary, but your punt plays better hit, or you’re doomed.

4) C DeMarcus Cousins $11000 Sticking with the 11K theme, Cousins checks in at number 4. Some of the same reasons Westbrook is number 5 is the same reasons Cousins isn’t higher on this list, he is just too expensive. Now, if you find a way to get him on your roster, without sacrificing too much, he’d make a great GPP play.

3) SG James Harden $10800 Harden is so good, he almost makes me want to play him every night. Tonight he gets a great matchup with Toronto, and of the 3 guys near or at the 11k mark, he is the one guy I would try to have in my lineup. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to pull it off or not, but I’m going to try. He should eat the Raptors for lunch.

2) PG Chris Paul $10000 Chris Paul literally has put the Clippers on his back, ok not literally, but you get my point. Without Blake over the last 2 games, the Clippers have beat the Rockets and the Spurs, and Chris Paul has been the biggest reason. It should be a bit easier for him tonight with the Kings visiting. Nothing less than 50 should be expected.

1) C DeAndre Jordan $9300 Can’t shoot free throws, has no semblance of an offensive game, and can’t hit a jumper from anywhere on the court…..and is totally dominating. I haven’t seen a bigger X factor on the offensive side of the ball, from a player with no offensive game, since Dennis Rodman, and Jordan is bigger, stronger, and more athletic then Rodman could have ever hoped to be. He missed his 3rd straight 20/20 game by 2 rebounds, and he would have gotten it easily if he was able to rebound his own free throws. It’s hard to get rebounds when the other team fouls you every time down the court. The Kings are bad defensively, not that it matters, Jordan just does his thing no matter who he plays.

That wraps up my Top 10 Plays for tonight. As usual, I’ll have my Starting 9 up later today. I want to tinker around with a bunch of different combos and talk to some of my trusted fellow analysts before I finally come to a lineup I feel good about. So please check back later today.

I release updates through my social media. So you can follow me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
