Week 16 was one of the highest scoring in fantasy football this year. With league championships going on, chances are it either made or broke your season. The same goes for DFS as well. Week 17 is shaping up to be a bit tricky for daily fantasy owners. There will be teams looking to shape up the playoff picture, but others who have already wrapped up their playoff spots, may look to rest some of their top guys. Let’s take a look at GoingFor2’s suggestions in the Week 17 edition of the NFL DFS DraftKings GPP plays.

RB Devonta Freeman (ATL) vs. NO
The Falcons still have much to play for in terms of seeding in the NFC. Atlanta is playing for a first-round bye in the playoffs, and get a home matchup against one of the worst overall defenses in the Saints. Much like last season, Devonta Freeman has been the primary focal point of the Falcons rushing attack. His ability as a receiver makes him even more dynamic for fantasy owners. He caught eight passes alone last week, and will look to do the same against a Saints team ranked 30th against running backs this year.
Quarterbacks
Russell Wilson (SEA) @ SF $6,800Â
Wilson has been hot the past couple of games, totaling seven touchdowns and 579 yards passing against the Rams and Cardinals. The Seahawks will take on their third divisional opponent in a row on Sunday, San Francisco. The 49ers are one of the worst defenses in the league, and a favorite to target against in fantasy. An MRI will determine Thomas Rawls status for Sunday. Either way it goes, Seattle may elect to rest their primary back in preparation for the playoffs. Wilson, on the other hand, will look to continue his personal hot streak, and give the Seahawks some confidence heading into the playoffs.
Matthew Stafford (DET) vs. GB $6,000
Since Stafford dislocated his middle finger he has struggled and so have the Lions. Detroit is now set to square off against the Packers to determine the NFC North champion. The Lions have never won the NFC North since its inception in 2002. The home fans will be pumped for this one, and expect Stafford to be as well despite the injury.

Running Backs
Bilal Powell (NYJ) vs. BUF $6,500
The Buffalo Bills have given up two 200-yard rushers in their last three games. With their playoff chances and now former head coach Rex Ryan out the door, the Bills are just ready for the season to be over. In hindsight, so are the Jets. But since entering the starting lineup, Bilal Powell has been the lone bright spot on an otherwise struggling Jets offense. His asking price continues to rise, but Powell should have a big game this week to finish off the regular season.
LeGarrette Blount (NE) @ MIA $5,700
The Patriots have not officially wrapped up home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. A win or an Oakland loss will do the trick, but it means that New England does have something to play for in the final week. The Dolphins have had a sensational turnaround in their last ten games, but they still remain one of the weaker rush defenses in the league. Not wanting to take the chance that Tom Brady could get hurt, I expect that the Patriots will lean on their run game. It’s always a guessing game as to which Patriots back will breakout from week-to-week, but I’ll take Blount who has five touchdowns in the last four games.

Wide Receivers
Jordy Nelson (GB) @ DET $8,100
This is the highest asking price for Jordy Nelson all season. The hike in price may turn some owners away, but Nelson has been the most consistent receiver in recent weeks, and the obvious favorite of QB Aaron Rodgers. Nelson nearly topped 40 fantasy points against a good Vikings defense last week, and I’m expecting a near encore performance against the Lions this week. In Week 3 against Detroit, Nelson recorded six receptions for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Playing for their playoff lives, the Packers offense will feature a ton of Jordy Nelson.
Adam Thielen (MIN) vs. CHI $5,600
Thielen was nothing short of spectacular last week against the Packers. While his production from last week cannot expect to be duplicated, Thielen has epitomized himself as a legit receiving threat for the future. His jump in price was to be expected after recording 47.6 fantasy points last week. Thielen’s usage has been on the rise in the Vikings offense the last fives games he’s played in. The Vikings have been eliminated from playoff contention, but they will continue to use Thielen as a pivotal part of their offense as he looks to go over the 1,000-yard mark in receiving this week.
Marvin Jones Jr. (DET) vs. GB $4,200
Marvin Jones fell off the fantasy map quicker than anyone I can recall in recent memory. At the beginning of the season, Jones looked as though he had taken over as Detroit’s #1 receiver from teammate Golden Tate. However, after going over 10 fantasy points just once in his last seven games that thought has become a distant memory. By and large his best performance this year was against the Packers in Week 3. In fact, the Packers do well containing opponents #1 receivers, but they give up A TON to their #2’s. Jones himself recorded 205 yards against the Packers. Last week, Adam Thielen went over the 200-yard mark against Green Bay, and in the week prior, two Chicago Bears receivers not named Alshon Jeffery went over the 100-yard mark. This is a good game for Jones to regain some confidence going into the postseason if Detroit can make it, and into next year.

Tight Ends
Jimmy Graham (SEA) @ SF $4,500
Graham caught a touchdown pass last week, but he’s been sort of nonexistent in recent weeks. He finished against Arizona with only two receptions, which followed a pair of games against the Rams and Packers where he recorded only one in each. This coming after Graham had recorded at least 46 receiving yards in Seattle’s previous five games, appearing like the viable weapon they had traded for. What better way to bounce back and get ready for the postseason than a tune-up against the 49ers? He had six catches for 100 yards and a touchdown when these teams met in Week 3.

Defense
Pittsburgh vs. CLE $3,600
The Browns finally got their first win last week against the Chargers. Now that they have avoided becoming the second team in history to go winless, Cleveland can’t wait for the season to be over. However, the dominant franchise that is the Pittsburgh Steelers is getting ready for the playoffs. The Steelers may elect to rest some players since they’ve clinched the 3rd seed, but they will look to carry their momentum into the playoffs. As it stands, the Steelers have a six-game winning streak, and an upset loss could be devastating to their playoff hopes. Look for the Steelers, and most notably their defense, to make a statement in Week 17 even if it is just the Browns.
