NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Plays for Week 13

Welcome to the Week 13 edition of the NFL DFS FanDuel GPP plays. This article will focus on the main slate on FanDuel, which features 13 games this week. Just as a reminder, this article is not meant to be an actual FanDuel GPP lineup, but rather an article focusing on some good stand-alone options for your GPP lineup. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite GPP options for Week 13.

DailyFantasyNerd FanDuel GPP Play of the Day

Brandin Cooks (NO) vs. DET $6,800
Brandin Cooks was someone who let a lot of people down in Week 12, with a big goose egg on zero targets. I guarantee a lot of people will be running away from him, which makes him an attractive, low owned option in GPPs. Cooks should be able to bounce back in a great matchup against the Lions, who have not defended the pass well at all this season.

Quarterbacks

Russell Wilson (SEA) vs. CAR $7,700
Russell Wilson did not explode against the Buccaneers last Sunday like everyone anticipated. To be fair, the Buccaneers have been playing much better defense lately, so perhaps the matchup was not as good as we thought it was. Wilson should be able to bounce back this weekend in a favorable matchup against the Panthers at home. The Panthers have been pretty stout against the run this season, but their secondary has not done well at all. Wilson should come in at low ownership this week, which bodes well for GPP contests.

Ben Roethlisberger (PIT) vs. NYG $8,300
Ben Roethlisberger had a solid Thanksgiving Day throwing three touchdowns against the Colts. Big Ben has always played much better at home and I expect him to be lower owned than each of the two quarterbacks playing in the Superdome. While Drew Brees certainly makes the most sense in cash games, I’m definitely prefer Big Ben in GPPs, who has just as much upside.

Running Backs

LeSean McCoy (BUF) @ OAK $8,400
LeSean Mccoy had an outstanding game last weekend against the Jaguars scoring two touchdowns, including an explosive 75 yard run. McCoy should come in at much lower ownership than Johnson and Bell, and he has just as much upside as those two. By dropping down to McCoy, you should be able to fit an additional stud player into your lineup. Also, if McCoy happens to out score Johnson and Bell, you will likely have a huge edge over roughly half of the field.

Carlos Hyde (SF) @ CHI $6,700
Carlos Hyde was limited to only 13 carries in Week 12, but that was probably due to the 49ers playing catch up with the Dolphins for most of the day. Hyde should see a much more favorable gameflow against the Bears, since the 49ers are currently only one point underdogs on the road. On paper this matchup looks terrible, but the Bears’ defense continues to lose key pieces. Two weeks ago Jerrell Freeman was suspended for PEDs and last Sunday Danny Trevathan went down with a season-ending injury.

Wide Receivers

Doug Baldwin (SEA) vs. CAR  $6,900
Similar to Cooks and Wilson, Doug Baldwin did not meet expectations at all in Week 12 with only 34 yards on seven receptions and eight targets (via Draftsnap.com). He is in a great spot to bounce back in a big way against the Panthers this week, who have been terrible in the secondary this season. Also, recency bias should cause Baldwin to be owned less than he should be.

Larry Fitzgerald (ARI) vs. WAS $7,000
Sticking with the theme of recommending a player that underperformed in Week 12, Larry Fitzgerald makes the list as well. Everyone was all over him last week in a great matchup against the Falcons, but he was only able to reel in four receptions for 53 yards. Not only are people going to be off of him because of recency bias, but some will probably avoid him due to the matchup. However, since Fitzgerald lines up in the slot for most of his routes, he will not be seeing a lot of Josh Norman this week.

Odell Beckham Jr. (NYG) @ PIT $9,000
Out of the big three wide receivers this week, I believe that Odell Beckham will be notably lower owned than Antonio Brown and Julio Jones. Anytime you can get an elite player at less ownership, it is a good idea to jump on board in GPPs. If he scores more than those other two, you could be significantly ahead of the field.

Tight Ends

Greg Olsen (CAR) @ SEA $6,200
Greg Olsen has a tough matchup against the Seahawks this week. However, he is an elite tight end and is still capable of having a great game. He should have low ownership, because of the matchup and the Seahawks’ defense has not been nearly as dominant this season as they have been the last few years.

Eric Ebron (DET) @ NO $5,700
Eric Ebron put up a bagel last week on Thanksgiving day against the Vikings, with only one target. Have no fear though, he should be able to bounce back in a much better matchup against the Saints this week. Prior to last week, Ebron had at least three receptions and 70 yards in each of the previous three games (via Draftsnap.com).

Defense

Eagles (PHI) @ CIN $4,300
The Eagles did not fair too well against the Packers at home last week. However, they are in a much better spot this week against the Bengals. The Bengals’ offense is depleted right now and the Eagles have performed pretty well overall this season. They are not expected to be highly owned, so I’m definitely willing to take a shot with them at this price in my GPPs.
