NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Plays for Week 17

Welcome to the Week 17 edition of the NFL DFS FanDuel GPP plays. This article will focus on the main slate on FanDuel, which features 16 games this week. Just as a reminder, this article is not meant to be an actual FanDuel GPP lineup, but rather an article focusing on some good stand-alone options for your GPP lineup. Let’s go ahead and take a look at my favorite GPP options for Week 17.

NFL DFS FanDuel GPP Plays for Week 17

DailyFantasyNerd FanDuel GPP Play of the Day

DeAndre Hopkins (HOU) @ TEN $7,200
2016 has been a rough season for DeAndre Hopkins. However, I believe that he can truly go out with a bang here in Week 17. Hopkins draws an outstanding matchup against the Titans, who have allowed the third-most FanDuel points to opposing wide receivers. The Texans cannot improve their playoff seed, but they will want to get Tom Savage more reps since it looks like he will be the starter in the playoffs. That also means that the other healthy starters should be playing this week as well.

Quarterback

Matthew Stafford (DET) vs. GB $8,000
Aaron Rodgers is going to be the chalk quarterback this week, which means Matthew Stafford may fly under the radar this week. The Lions were able to establish the run more in Week 16 with Zach Zenner, but this is still a pass-first offense. If the Lions want to defeat the Packers and win the NFC North, Stafford is going to have to have a solid game. Stafford was able to destroy this defense earlier in the season with 385 yards and three touchdowns. There is no reason to believe he will not have another excellent game against this poor secondary.

Tom Brady (NE) @ MIA $9,100
With Rodgers being the chalk quarterback, another option who will likely be relatively low owned will be Tom Brady. I always say that whenever Brady is low owned, he has to be on your GPP radar since his upside is tremendous. This week he has an outstanding matchup against the Dolphins who have allowed the fourth-most FanDuel points to opposing quarterbacks. Both teams still have something to play for too. The Patriots can lock up the number one seed with a win and the Dolphins can potentially move up to the five seed which would have them playing the Texans in the Wild Card round instead of the Steelers.

Running Backs

Mark Ingram  (NO) @ ATL $6,100
Despite the Saints having nothing to play for this weekend, Mark Ingram still has something to play for. Ingram is currently sitting on 940 rushing yards and he has an incentive bonus in his contract for 1,000 yards rushing. I believe the Saints will do everything they can to get him that bonus and he very well may score a touchdown or two along the way against an awful Falcons rushing defense.

Darren Sproles (PHI) vs. DAL $5,500
With Wendell Smallwood and Ryan Mathews now on IR, Darren Sproles should see the bulk of the workload. The Eagles are clearly out of the playoff picture, but they will still try  to win so that they can boost Carson Wentz’s confidence going into next season. The Dallas Cowboys, on the other hand, have nothing to play for and could very well rest some of their key players on both the offensive and defensive side of the football. All of these things make Sproles and interesting and sneaky GPP option.

Wide Receivers
Davante Adams (GB) @ DET  $6,800
You definitely should have some exposure to the Green Bay offense this weekend and Davante Adams will be a nice pivot from a chalky Jordy Nelson. Adams would have had a couple of huge games in each of the past two weeks, but drops have been an issue for him. With that being said, he still has done a great job of separating himself from the defense and Aaron Rodgers continues to throw his way with at least six targets in every game since Week 7. This week he has a solid matchup against the Lions, who have not been great in their secondary this season.

Doug Baldwin (SEA) @ SF $7,100
Doug Baldwin had a huge game last week with 13 receptions, 171 yards, and a touchdown. With Tyler Lockett going down with a gruesome broken leg, Doug Baldwin will probably see even more targets going forward. This week he has an outstanding matchup against the 49ers, who have allowed the most FanDuel points to opposing wide receivers. Also, the Seahawks still have a chance at a first-round bye if they win and the Falcons lose, so they definitely have something to play for.

Eli Rogers (PIT) @ CLE $4,700
Eli Rogers had a solid game in Week 16 against the Ravens catching four of his five targets for 84 yards. With Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell out, Rogers should see a heavy dosage of targets as the primary receiver for Landry Jones. This week he has a decent matchup against the Browns who have not been very good against opposing wide receivers.

Tight End

Jordan Reed (WAS) vs. NYG $7,000
Jordan Reed has been pretty banged up over the past few weeks and really has not done much since Week 12. It has been reported that he has looked healthy this week in practice and with the season on the line, you can guarantee that he will be out there for this game. When healthy, Reed has just as much upside as any other tight end in the game as seen with two multi-touchdown games this season. The Giants have nothing to play for this week since their playoff seed is locked up. Therefore,  I could see them resting some key defensive players, making it pretty easy for the Redskins to move the football down the field.

Defense

Bills (BUF) @ NYJ $4,800
The Buffalo Bills have nothing to play for since they are out of the playoffs, but I do not see them resting anyone on defense. The Jets have announced that Ryan Fitzpatrick will be the starting quarterback for them this week. Fitzpatrick has been absolutely horrendous this season with 17 interceptions and eight fumbles. The Bills could very well get a few takeaways this week and potentially take one back to the house for a score.
