NFL DFS Value Plays Week 10 – FanDuel

Week 10 has a ton of value options to consider at every position. It should be an easy week to grab a few of these value options to pair with your favorite high-priced studs when building your Cash and GPP lineups.

The intent is not to play this exact lineup as it will come in well below the Salary Cap but to use the players as a baseline of value options which can then be upgraded to a better player with a higher salary at a few of the positions.

So onto the value plays for Week 10…

The LootCrate FanDuel Value Plays for Week 10

Quarterbacks

Ryan Fitzpatrick (TB) vs NYJ $6,100
Fitzpatrick will take over for Jameis Winston for at least a couple of weeks and the veteran QB should be able to produce in his first start of the season against the Jets. The Jets’ secondary has been shredded by opposing QBs the last five week allowing 281 passing yards and 2.4 TD passes per game. Fitz”magic” has had some very productive NFL season including a couple with the Jets. He is even worth consideration in Cash games.

Running Backs

Devonta Freeman (ATL) vs DAL $6,500
I never thought that I would be able to write about Freeman in a “value” article but here we are after his price has dropped down to $6,500 on FanDuel this week. I believe health more than ability has been the cause of Freeman’s recent decrease in touches and production but he is putting in full practices this week and gets a favorable matchup at home against the Cowboys who are ranked 30th DVOA according to Football Outsiders. Look for Freeman to find the end zone this week to help him exceed value.

Orleans Darkwa (NYG) @ SF $5,300
While didn’t expect to write about Freeman, I certainly didn’t expect to recommend a Giants’ RB at any point this season either. However, Darkwa has emerged as the primary back for the Giants with 46 carries over the last three games and he has looked good doing it averaging 4.85 YPC over those games. This week he gets a juicy matchup against the 49ers who were shredded by Adrian Peterson last week and have allowed the most rushing yards per game (140) to opposing RBs over the last five weeks to go along with 0.8 rushing TDs per game during that stretch. The Giants may also be working with a lead for once which could give Darkwa even more carries.

Wide Receivers

DeSean Jackson (TB) vs NYJ $6,300
With Mike Evans out to due suspension, Jackson will take over as the #1 WR option for the Bucs this week at home against the Jets. Jackson should see his targets jump up into the 8-10 range in a good matchup against a Jets’ secondary that has allowed 166 receiving yards (24th) and 1.2 TDs (25th) to opposing WRs over the last five weeks. He is also always capable of getting a long ball to make his day with just one catch.

Cooper Kupp (LAR) vs HOU $5,900
Kupp was the only Rams’ receiver that didn’t score last week in their 51-point effort. That should change this week in another good matchup for the Rams’ passing game against the Texans. The Texans have allowed 200 receiving yards (31st) and 1.25 TDs (26th) to opposing WRs over the last five weeks and Kupp has the best individual matchup this week working out of the slot.

nfl fanduel value picks week 10Sterling Shepard (NYG) @ SF $5,700
Two Giants on one list! Yep, give me Shepard who returned from injury last week to catch five balls on nine targets for 70 yards and just missed a long connection with Eli Manning. Shepard has big-play ability and faces a 49ers’ secondary that has allowed 13.7 YPC (27th) to opposing WRs this season. The 49ers are also solid against TEs so a few of those Evan Engram targets could also be headed Shepard’s way.

Tight Ends

Kyle Rudolph (MIN) @ WAS $5,400
Rudolph has been targeted at least seven times in each of the last four games reeling in at least five receptions in each game. He should get a lot of looks again this week with the Vikings outside WRs contending with a solid Redskins’ secondary. Rudolph offers a solid floor and has touchdown upside as one of the top red zone targets for the Vikings.

Kicker

Robbie Gould (SF) vs NYG $4,500
As I have said previous weeks, FanDuel has tightened up the pricing on kickers so there are not as many minimum priced options anymore. Of the few priced at $4,500 this week, Gould is the best option kicking against the Giants who have allowed 2.6 field goal attempts per game (4th highest).

Defense

Bears (CHI) vs GB $4,300
I can’t believe the Bears’ defense only costs $4,300 on FanDuel this week. They have performed very well over the last four games with 14 sacks, eight turnovers and three touchdowns. Now they get to face the Aaron Rodger-less Packers who haven’t topped 17 points in each of their last three games and the game is in Chicago with the Bears as almost a touchdown favorite. I may have found my Cash and GPP lineup defense.

Brad Richter

Growing up, I was always intrigued with stats, from the back of baseball, football and basketball cards to playing dice rolling simulation games, while tracking the stats for the players on my team. My fantasy sports obsession began in college running fantasy football leagues with friends and has expanded into playing in both fantasy baseball and fantasy basketball leagues, and most recently Daily Fantasy Sports. I consider myself a “stats guy” by nature and lean on data to back up my advice and analysis of strategy techniques and player evaluations. That said, I have also always felt that sometimes you must go with a gut instinct based on things you have seen watching players play, even when the numbers don’t back it up. I feel that it is this mix of analysis that leads to the most successful formula when competing in fantasy sports.
