NFL DFS Value Plays Week 13 – FanDuel

The LootCrate FanDuel Value Plays for Week 13

After a week off due to the Thanksgiving holiday, I’m back with my FanDuel Value plays for Week 13. It is a good week for value options with plenty to choose from at every position and even a couple of stacks (QB/WR and RB/DEF) that you can use on the cheap if you wish.

The intent is not to play this exact lineup as it will come in well below the Salary Cap but to use the players as a baseline of value options which can then be upgraded to a better player with a higher salary at a few of the positions.

So onto the value plays for Week 13…

Quarterback

Trevor Siemian (DEN) @ MIA $6,200
I expect that a lot of people will select Brett Hundley when looking for a QB under $6,500 on FanDuel this week. As a Packer fan that witnessed his epic fail in person against the Ravens two weeks ago, I’m not encouraged enough by his performance against the Steelers to have confidence rostering him. So I’m pivoting to Siemian, who has more experience, has shown flashes of good play as recent as the beginning of this season and has a sensational matchup against a Dolphins’ defense that has allowed 2.6 TD passes per game over the last five weeks.

Running Backs

Marshawn Lynch (OAK) vs NYG $6,200
I guess the Raiders are willing to give Lynch the ball more than 15 times in a game as he saw a season-high 26 carries last week. While he wasn’t very efficient (2.58 YPC) he could see similar volume this week with the Raiders top two WRs Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree out. He could have a favorable game script with the Raiders as an eight-point home favorite against the Giants who have allowed 4.39 YPC (23rd) to RBs over the last five weeks. Lynch has also scored three touchdowns over the last three weeks.

Alex Collins (BAL) vs DET $5,900
I strongly considered either of the Patriots’ RBs (Rex Burkhead and Dion Lewis) for this spot but on FanDuel I want touchdowns and fell that Collins has a better likelihood of a score. He has found paydirt in two straight weeks and faces a Lions’ defense that has allowed 1.2 rushing scores per game over the last five weeks.

Wide Receivers

nfl fanduel week 13 picksDemaryius Thomas (DEN) @ MIA $6,700
If I like Siemian than I must like his WRs. I prefer Thomas over Emmanuel Sanders since he appears to be healthier and has been more consistent with at least five receptions nine out of 11 games this season. I expect the Broncos’ offense to show a little life this week.

Devante Adams (GB) vs TB $6,500
Adams has been the go-to WR for Hundley since Aaron Rodgers went down. Over his last three games, Adams has averaged six receptions for 99 yards and has scored twice. He will have a favorable matchup at home against a Bucs’ secondary that has allowed the most yards to opposing WRs in the league this season and 1.4 TD receptions to WRs over the last five weeks. If you want a contrarian play in GPPs, consider pivoting to his teammate Jordy Nelson who I expect to have a better game than Adams one of the next two weeks.

Dede Westbrook (JAC) vs IND $4,700
Westbrook has been targeted 16 times over the last two weeks since coming back from an injury that kept him out the first half of the season. With Allen Hurns still out, Westbrook should continue to get a sizeable target share on Sunday in an elite matchup against the Colts’ pass defense that has allowed 278 yards (30th) per game this season including a 15.2 YPC to opposing WRs which is the worst in the league. Westbrook as the ability to get deep and could pay off his salary with just one long TD catch.

Tight Ends

nfl fanduel picks week 13Hunter Henry (LAC) vs CLE $5,400
Henry has had an inconsistent season for the Chargers this year. However, he hauled in five catches for 76 yards and a score last week and get a premier matchup this week against the Browns who have allowed an average of 6.3 receptions (32nd) for 59 yards (26th) and 0.9 TDs (31st) to opposing TEs this season. When Henry is involved the Chargers’ offense is dangerous.

Kicker & Defense

Robbie Gould (SF) @ CHI $4,500
Gould returns to Chicago this week where he kicked for the first 11 years of his career. He should know all the wind angles and be comfortable with the elements. The 49ers’ offense could give him a few extra scoring opportunities with Jimmy Garoppolo getting his first start.

Ravens (BAL) vs DET $4,600
I couldn’t find a defense under $4,500 that I like this week but there are plenty at $4,600 to choose from including the Ravens, Raiders, Chiefs and Broncos. I’ll give the edge to the Ravens playing at home against a Lions’ team that has allowed 3.3 sacks per game (28th).

Brad Richter

Growing up, I was always intrigued with stats, from the back of baseball, football and basketball cards to playing dice rolling simulation games, while tracking the stats for the players on my team. My fantasy sports obsession began in college running fantasy football leagues with friends and has expanded into playing in both fantasy baseball and fantasy basketball leagues, and most recently Daily Fantasy Sports. I consider myself a “stats guy” by nature and lean on data to back up my advice and analysis of strategy techniques and player evaluations. That said, I have also always felt that sometimes you must go with a gut instinct based on things you have seen watching players play, even when the numbers don’t back it up. I feel that it is this mix of analysis that leads to the most successful formula when competing in fantasy sports.
