Rapid Reaction: Will Fuller’s Remarkable Season Cut Short by Suspension

WR Will Fuller has been hit with a six-game suspension from the NFL after he tested positive for a PED. Fuller states that this “comes from earlier in the year in which he saw a medical professional who prescribed him medication that he believed to be permitted.” This via Fuller’s Instagram page.

Fuller who was in the midst of his best NFL season in his career with 53 catches 879 yards and 8 touchdowns had him sitting as the WR7 in PPR formats on the Fantasy Football season. What this means for Fuller is he will miss the rest of this season and the first game of the 2021 season as well.

The big question this brings is for Houston’s fantasy outlook for the rest of the season. An uptick for Brandin Cooks and Keke Coutee is inevitable as Fuller vacates an additional 6-7 targets on average per game. Coutee who is owned in only 1% of Yahoo fantasy football leagues is going to become the hottest waiver wire pickup of the week in the high-powered passing-based Houston offense. Fuller is a huge loss for Deshaun Watson as he is already down Randall Cobb, I would expect to see Watson use his legs more but I think in general the Texans take a step backward in fantasy football output for the rest of the 2020 season.
