Week 8 is upon us, and that means the trade deadline is growing ever closer. Rookies have been dropping some fantasy point bombs on teams, and that trend should continue. This week, we are taking a look at the 10 rookies that you must have on your squad. These guys are capable of taking you to the fantasy promised land. Let’s meet them.
Justin Herbert, QB Chargers
Herbert completed 27 of 43 pass attempts for 347 yards and three touchdowns during Sunday’s 39-29 win over the Jaguars. He also had nine carries for 66 yards and a score. Herbert enjoyed winning his first NFL game last Sunday, and if he continues o his pace, we might be seeing a rookie superstar for fantasy at QB.
Joe Burrow, QB Bengals
Burrow completed 35 of 47 passes for 406 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in Sunday’s 37-34 loss to Cleveland. He also rushed six times for 34 yards and a touchdown. The other rookie QB who is doing extremely well, Burrow is building up a rapport with his wideouts week to week. IN the NFL he may not be winning much, but in fantasy, he is proving to be a capable starter.
Justin Jefferson, WR Vikings
Justin Jefferson had a breakout performance in Week 6 versus Atlanta, snagging nine receptions for 166 yards and two touchdowns. JJ is setting the world on fire, albeit in losing efforts. Critics will point to how he accumulates most of his stats in garbage time, but those points count just as much as the others. A Cousins favorite, Jefferson has slotted in tp the role left behind by Stefon Diggs.
James Robinson, RB Jags
Robinson recorded 22 carries for 119 yards and one touchdown while reeling in four of six targets for 18 yards and another score. Robinson is a workhorse back in a year where none seem to be healthy, producing or both. As such, he should be considered in the upper-tier or RB’s, if for no other reason than the volume he is currently receiving.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB Chiefs

Edwards-Helaire registered 46 rushing yards and a touchdown on eight carries, adding a 17-yard catch during Sunday’s 43-16 win against Denver. In his final game before Leveon Bell debuts, CEH has a quiet but solid outing. It will be interesting to see how the carries and targets amongst the two going forward.
Jonathon Taylor, RB Colts
Taylor had 60 rushing yards on 12 carries and caught 4 balls for 55 yards. Stil not being given the volume he rightfully deserves, JT is nonetheless putting together a solid, if unspectacular campaign. 2021 looks to be the year that Taylor will be given full reigns over this offense.
Tee Higgins, WR Bengals
Higgins caught all five of his targets for 71 yards and a touchdown in Sunday’s 37-34 loss to Cleveland. He also rushed once for seven yards. Higgins has developed immediate chemistry with Burrow, and the results are speaking for themselves. Higgins has worked his way into every week starting consideration, and his potential for more is off the charts heading into the second half of the fantasy season.
Antonio Gibson, RB Washington
Gibson carried 20 times for 128 yards and a touchdown during Sunday’s 25-3 win over the Cowboys. Even with J.D Mckissic taking away some of his receiving work, it is becoming apparent that Gibson is the lead back in Washington;
Deandre Swift, RB Lions
Swift registered 27 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine carries, adding four receptions for 21 yards during Sunday’s 23-22 win against the Falcons. Foolishly, Detroit is refusing to make Swift the lead back, instead of relying on a committee. This puts his owners in a tough spot, as he has the talent to be the rookie RB1 at the end of the year if only given more work. Keep him and cross your fingers.
Harrison Bryant, TE Browns
Bryant caught four of five targets for 56 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday’s 37-34 win over the Bengals. Bryant drew the start over David Njoku, and he made the most of it. Austin Hooper is dealing with injuries, and Odell Beckham is out for the year. This gives Bryant an amazing opportunity to capitalize and get more playing time.
