Sneak Peak: Jaguars’ Upcoming Path To Victory

Two things sports bettors and fans alike look forward to – upsets and underdogs. And, Boy, do I have one for them this week. The Jacksonville Jaguars are primed to get their first win of the season in London Sunday morning. They will do it on the backs of James Robinson, Dan Arnold, and Marvin Jones Jr. Let’s consider this roto-wild face off across the Atlantic.

Miami’s defense has not lived up to expectations, to say the least. They are surrendering the most total yards per game over the last three weeks, a whopping average of 468! And even though Trevor Lawrence’s debut season hasn’t been flashy, it’s about to get exciting. The Dolphins are allowing the most passing yards over that time period, an average of 335 per game. Miami is also affording their opponents a 54% third down conversion percentage over the last three games, the third-worst in the league during that time. If ever Lawrence was going to have an impressive game, it is now.

Jumpin’ James Robinson

After a slow start, James Robinson exploded back onto the scene in the last three weeks. Averaging 105 rushing yards per game over that time, Robinson should have no problem bruising through Miami, who is ceding the second-most yards to running backs. The Dolphins have also given up a rushing touchdown in each of their last four games. The defensive front will no doubt be focusing on Robinson, especially since he torched them for 129 and two touchdowns in their matchup last season. Still, that just may open up the field for a new powerhouse player to emerge.

Hey, (Dan) Arnold

Technically, it was Jamal Agnew who was set to replace the injured D.J.Chark, and he did a fine job, but it was Dan Arnold who really stood out last week. And why wouldn’t he? Rookie quarterbacks love tight ends like no one else does. Lawrence targeted him more than any receiver last week. Arnold is going to hit paydirt this week. No one is worrying about Jason McCourty anymore. Two of Lawrence’s four passing touchdowns this season have been to tight ends. Dan Arnold is happening against Miami, Folks.

Give Us More Marvin

Where has Marivin Jones Jr. been the past few weeks? Ask Tavon Austin? No, but do ask Urban Meyer how it’s working out for him not featuring Jones. For all his faults, Meyer cannot be daft. The demoralized Miami secondary is a dream right now for a receiver like Jones. They are granting an average of 250 yards per game to wide receivers and have given up five scores to them over the last three games. Xavien Howard and Byron Jones just don’t have the ferocity we’ve seen from them in seasons past.

The time has come to bet on Lawrence and the Jaguars. I don’t figure the over (47) to hit in this matchup; however.
