The 10 Best Rookies for Fantasy in Week 10

Week 9 was a weird one, so let’s hope we get back to normal in Week 10. Here’s how the rookies rank in their selective matchups for Week 10.

1.) Najee Harris

Ja’Marr Chase has been the mainstay at #1 in these rankings since the beginning of the season, but the Bengals are on a bye. Now, Najee Harris can hold the top spot as the Steelers take on the winless Lions in Week 10.

Advice: START

2.) Jaylen Waddle

Whether it’s Tua Tagovailoa or Jacoby Brissett for the Dolphins in Week 10, Jaylen Waddle deserves to be in the starting lineup. An 8-catch performance for Waddle in Week 9 now gives him 5 straight weeks of seeing more than 6 targets. Waddle was also carrying a 22.7% target share going into Week 9. Watch for the Dolphins’ quarterback (whoever it is) to continue to lean on Waddle.

Advice: START

3.) Elijah Mitchell

We get to watch Elijah Mitchell and the 49ers in prime time in Week 10, and it should be fun. Despite having a tough matchup against the Rams, Mitchell should continue being the focal point of the 49ers’ offense. His Week 9 stat line wasn’t great, but we did see him catch 5 passes out of the backfield. It’s an encouraging sign that when the game script goes south, the rookie is used in the passing game.

Advice: START

4.) Pat Freiermuth

‘The Muth’ has arrived! Wow. What a prime-time outing for Pat Friermuth. The rookie hauled in 5 catches and 2 touchdowns. Freiermuth has found his role in this Steelers’ offense, and now he needs to find a spot in your starting lineups. His Week 10 matchup against the Lions is a good one.

Advice: START

5.) Elijah Moore

Watching Elijah Moore breakout has been fun over the last two weeks. In his previous two games, Moore has recorded 13 receptions and two touchdowns. Those numbers are compared to his last 5 games, where he recorded just 9 receptions and zero touchdowns. In Week 10, Moore and the Jets will take on a stout Bills defense, so his ceiling may be capped. I’d only consider him a desperate start at this time.

6.) Javonte Williams

Javonte Williams is so close to being ‘the guy’ in Denver, we can all taste it. Williams had his first career 100-yard rushing game with a whopping 6.53 yards per carry. He also is currently tied for 3rd in the league in broken tackles… and that’s while splitting duties with Melvin Gordon.

Advice: START

7.) Rashod Bateman

Rashod Bateman has AT LEAST 6 targets in every game he’s played in this season (3). While we don’t usually make predictions in this segment, we can do one now: Bateman will score his first NFL touchdown in Week 10.

Advice: START

8.) Kyle Pitts

Week 10 could be a tough matchup for Kyle Pitts as he goes up against a tough Dallas defense. But, despite their overall efficiency, the Cowboys are giving up the 10th most fantasy points per game against opposing TEs. Pitts could be in store for a decent fantasy outing in Dallas.

Advice: START

9.) DeVonta Smith v Broncos

For the first time since Week 1, DeVonta Smith found the end zone in Week 9! Unfortunately, Week 10 looks to be volatile for the rookie wideout. We just watched the Broncos’ defense make the Cowboys’ offense look less than average. Denver was able to stop the pass, and I expect more of the same this week.

Advice: SIT

10.) Trevor Lawrence

This ranking surprised me too. Trevor Lawrence isn’t the most obvious choice here, but his matchup is intriguing. The Colts have given up the 3rd most total fantasy points and the 5th most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. If his receivers can catch the ball, Lawrence has a chance to have a solid outing on Sunday in this divisional matchup.
