The 10 Best Rookies for Fantasy in Week 13

Ja’Marr Chase has been knocked off his throne. There’s a new top rookie in our 2021 Rookie Power Rankings. The new ‘Number #1’ has emerged as not only the top target on his team but continues to produce no matter the matchup.

1.) Jaylen Waddle (Previous Rank: 5)

Jaylen Waddle has been red hot lately. He’s recorded 8+ receptions in three of the last four weeks and had a monster performance in Week 12 (9/137/1). Not only has Waddle been hot, but he also faces a Giants defense in Week 13 that has given up the 6th most fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers.

2.) Elijah Mitchell (Previous Rank: 6)

One of the best numbers of Week 12: 168. That number is the total yards Elijah Mitchell piled up against the Vikings. He finished with 133 rushing yards and topped that off with a touchdown and five catches. Mitchell is the 49ers’ workhorse we’ve all dreamed about for years. In Week 13, he’ll be facing a Seahawks defense that surrenders the 3rd most fantasy points per game to running backs.

3.) Najee Harris (Previous Rank: 2)

Well, that didn’t go well. Najee Harris and the Steelers found themselves down 31 to 3 at halftime. No surprise then that Harris only recorded eight carries on the afternoon while Big Ben worked to play catch up. Harris should bounce back with his normal usage in Week 13 against the Ravens.

4.) Ja’Marr Chase (Previous Rank: 1)

Just hear me out! I know we all love Ja’Marr Chase, but he hasn’t been able to do much recently. Going into Week 12, Chase was WR36 over the previous four weeks, and he didn’t do much against the Steelers while falling victim to game script (3/39). It’s hard to justify keeping him in the top spot here, given his recent struggles. He now has to face a Charges defense giving up the 2nd *fewest* fantasy points to wide receivers.

Advice: START

5.) DeVonta Smith (Previous Rank: 4)

DeVonta Smith managers do not need to panic. The Eagles’ offensive struggles in Week 12 were not his fault. Smith should be back at it with his usual workload in Week 13 against the Jets.

Advice: START

6.) Pat Freiermuth (Previous Rank: 8)

Thank goodness for garbage time! The Muth benefited from a second half of desperation against the Bengals and recorded his 6th touchdown of the year. He’s now a weekly start with Eric Ebron out for the year.

7.) Elijah Moore (Previous Rank: 3)

The good news: Elijah Moore has been *the* WR1 over the last four weeks. The Bad News: Zach Wilson is back at quarterback. There was some hope Moore could keep up his explosive numbers, but we saw in Week 12 that may not be possible with Wilson under center. Moore also gets an Eagles defense that’s giving up the third *fewest* fantasy points.

8.) Mac Jones (Previous Rank: On the Bubble)

Mac Jones just recorded his second 300 yard game of his career, and it came against the AFC’s top seed. Jones also threw for two touchdowns on Sunday. He now gets the prime-time lights against the Buffalo Bills to decide who gets the top spot of the AFC East.

9.) Kyle Pitts (Previous Rank: 10)

Matt Ryan has to throw to someone, and the Bucs’ defense will focus on Cordarrelle Patterson all game in Week 13. The last time the Falcons played Tampa, Pitts finished as the TE8.

10.) Rashod Bateman (Previous Rank: 7)

The Rashod Bateman breakout is coming. When it does, it will be memorable.

Javonte Williams

I can’t figure out this backfield. Let me know when you do. I do know Javonte Williams scored a touchdown and had a great run after a catch in Week 12.

Just a man who loves football. I once drafted Patrick Mahomes "way too early" in 2018, and I never looked back.
