The 10 Best Rookies for Fantasy in Week 4

Some new faces and new benchwarmers have entered this week’s Rookie Power Rankings. Here’s where the rookies stack up against each other heading into Week 4.

1.) Ja’Marr Chase (Previous Rank: 1)

The WR1 of the 2021 class stays on top heading into week 4. He’s the real deal. My only advice with Ja’Marr Chase, set him & forget him.

Advice: START

2.) Najee Harris (Previous Rank: 8)

WOW. Najee Harris was a one-man pass-catching machine in Week 3. While he struggled on the ground, Harris finished with *19 targets, 14 receptions, and 102 yards.* There’s no doubt he’s the workhorse for this offense right now. Hopefully, Harris can get the ground game going in Week 4 against the Packers.

Advice: START

3.) DeVonta Smith (Previous Rank: 2)

The last two weeks haven’t been great for Devonta Smith, but he’s a rumbling volcano that could explode any week. Smith saw an absurd 98% snap share against the Cowboys, and there’s every reason to believe the Eagles will be playing catch up again against the Chiefs.

Advice: START

4.) Jaylen Waddle (Previous Rank:5)

Over the last two games, Jaylen Waddle has recorded 18 receptions on 21 targets. If you’re in a PPR league, which you likely are, keep him in your WR2/3 or FLEX spot this week. The Colts’ defense isn’t as intimidating as 2020, so Jacoby Brissett should continue to lean on Waddle.

Advice: START

5.) Javonte Williams (Previous Rank: 7)

Javonte Williams scored a touchdown! But he also fumbled on the goal-line. Week 3 was a mixed bag for Denver’s RB1Bish, so it’s tough to tell what the playbook about the Ravens will look like in Week 4. Regardless, I wouldn’t expect much from Williams this week against a tough defense.

Advice: SIT

6.) Chuba Hubbard (Previous Rank: Unranked)

Christian McCaffrey’s injury has now opened the door for Chuba Hubbard to make a spot start. Last season we saw what Mike Davis did in CMC’s absence, so we’re hoping for something similar with Hubbard. The news about his Week 4 matchup, it’s against the Cowboys. We could either see a shootout or a defensive standstill between these two teams. Either way, Hubbard should be able to catch enough passes to be PPR-relevant.

Advice: START (PPR)

7.) Rondale Moore (Previous Rank:3)

The Arizona Cardinals face their toughest test of the season, going up against the LA Rams in Week 4. It’s a Rams team that just held Tom Brady to one passing touchdown. I’d temper expectations of an ‘offensive explosion’ between these two teams and put Rondale Moore on the bench.

Advice: SIT

8.) Trey Sermon/Elijah Mitchell

There isn’t much going on in the 49ers offense besides the run game, so if one of these two rookies is healthy enough to play, feel free to fire them up as a low-end FLEX. San Francisco is playing a Seattle defense that just gave up 140 yards on the ground to Dalvin Cook-less Minnesota.

Advice: SIT

9.) Kyle Pitts (Previous Rank: 5)

It was a tough Week 3 for Kyle Pitts managers. The promising pass-catcher only hauled in two catches on three targets in a win against the Giants. He has also yet to find the endzone this season when there was hope he’d be Matt Ryan’s new favorite red-zone target. There is some positive news, Pitts recorded his highest snap share in Week 3 with an 84% rate, which is a new career-high.

Advice: SIT (if possible)

10.) Kadarius Toney (Previous Rank: Unranked)

It’s a toss-up on how involved Kadarius Toney will be in the Giants’ offense in Week 4, but he does have a chance. Sterling Shepard is likely out with a hamstring injury, and reports say Toney could play the slot. Toney also saw his snap percentage skyrocket from 28% to 66% in Week 3.

Advice: Desperation Start

Just a man who loves football. I once drafted Patrick Mahomes "way too early" in 2018, and I never looked back.
