The NBA returned last night and with that comes NBA DFS. Let’s not waste any time. Here are my picks for the 10/19 DFS slate.
Guards

I was considering Murray here as well cause he is a bit cheaper, but I decided to go with Young. It doesn’t get much easier than a matchup with Houston, a bottom-tier defense.
Tre Jones (SA) vs. CHA ($4200 DK, $5100 FD)
Jones is the perfect example of a value player to fill out your roster. He is going to be the starting PG for the Spurs and is playing the Hornets minus LaMelo. The Hornets aren’t exactly known for defense either.
Donovan Mitchell (CLE) @ TOR ($8500 DK, $7900 FD)
After finding a new home in the off-season, look for Mitchell to explode out the gate with a monster game.
Jaden Ivey DET vs. ORL ($6400 DK, $4700 FD)
I know it’s risky to trust a rookie out the gate in his first regular season game, but Ivey is a special talent who I believe will showcase it right out the gate. Plus it’s vs the Magic. Enough said.
Forwards
SF Anthony Edwards (MIN) vs. OKC ($8400 DK, $7700 FD)
Another star playing a bottom-tier defense, look for Edwards to shine through in this juicy matchup.
Herbert Jones (NOP) @ BRK ($4200 DK, $4500 FD)

While all the buzz will be around Zion and the other stars, this is the perfect opportunity for someone like Jones to come through with a good game, and they are playing the Nets in a game where I expect a lot of points put up. PF

Yes I am recommending two players from the same team. Towns is an elite player and the Thunder have no one that has much of a chance to stop him.
Jabari Smith (HOU) @ ATL ($6600 DK, $4800 FD)
Here I am recommending another rookie. Smith is going to be a focal point of Houston’s offense, and this will start right out of the gate vs the Hawks who still have to prove to me they’ll be able to play defense.
Centers
Jusuf Nurkic (POR) @ SAC ($6300 DK, $7100 FD)
With a roster with a bunch of unproven players and new guys, expect Nurkic to be a steady force in this game against the lowly Kings.
Steven Adams (MEM) vs. NYK ($5800 DK, $5500 FD)
I know Adams isn’t a flashy player by any means, but he’s an effective player and an anchor of the Grizzlies’ defense. He won’t have an explosive game, but at a relatively thin position, he provides good value.
