The Best DFS XFL DraftKings Picks for Week 7 (3/31)

Another XFL week in the books, and another good week for my picks and my lineups. For those keeping track, I’ve only had one bad week so far this season, and I don’t intend to have another one…

Quarterback

Jordan Ta’amu (DC) @ ORL $8,500

No team has given up more passing TDs than the Orlando Guardians. Three teams are tied for the second most at 10…the Guardians have given up 15! The Guardians also have the second-fewest defensive interceptions and the second-fewest sacks. That’s “Hashtag not good”.

AJ McCarron (STL) @ HOU $11,100

I’m going back to the well again after McCarron paid off nicely for me last week. I’m avoiding Ben DiNucci this week as he has a bad matchup against the Renegades who lead the league in fewest total yards and fewest passing yards allowed.

McCarron, however, gets the Roughnecks who are middle of the pack in yards allowed, but the Roughnecks’ offense can also put up points, forcing McCarron and the Battlehawks to pass to keep up.

Running Back

Max Borghi (HOU) vs. STL $8,900

The Battlehawks give up the second-most rushing yards a game (118.7), and Borghi is tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns (5). Borghi is also a pass catcher with 16 receptions on the season for 86 yards. This will be a good game to stack, but it’ll be expensive.

Jacques Patrick (SA) @ VGS $5,700

The Vegas Vipers give up the most rushing yards per game — by far — in the league (136.7), and they have given up a league-worst eight rushing TDs. They give up 4.46 yards per carry, which is also last in the league.

Patrick is coming off a game in which he had 18 total touches for 100 total yards — against the best defense in the league. If he could just find the end zone more he’d be a lot more expensive.

Abram Smith/Brian Hill

I’d be remiss if I didn’t at least mention these two. You can play one of these guys every week and feel pretty confident they will produce. They are a little more expensive than I would like, but you can’t deny their production.

Wide Receiver/Tight End

Cody Latimer (ORL) vs. DC $8,000

Latimer continues to be a smash play and is way underpriced. He is averaging the third-highest points per game but is priced two-to-three thousand less than the guys near him in PPG. Latimer averages more per hame than Jachour Pearson, but Pearson is $11,500 compared to $8,00 for Latimer.

The Defenders are also the worst pass defense in the league giving up, on average, 238.2 yards per game.

Lucky Jackson (DC) @ ORL $6,200

I already mentioned how bad the Guardians’ defense is when I touted Ta’amu, and Jackson is Ta’amu’s favorite target. This will be a popular stack. After his 5 catch 136-yard 1 touchdown performance last week, I don’t understand why he’s still under $7k. Hell, he’s not even the most expensive wide receiver on his own team despite leading them in every major receiving stat category. The disrespect is real.

Deontay Burnett (HOU) vs. STL $9,700

Burnett was one of my favorite plays last week after the Kirklin injury, and he did not disappoint going off for 122 and a touchdown — with 85 coming on one play. Only Jeff Badet has more touchdowns than Burnett

Defense

Sea Dragons @ ARL $3,900

As good as the Renegades’ defense is, their offense is equally as bad. They have the second-fewest total yards, are tied for the most interceptions thrown, have the fewest touchdown passes, and are tied for the fewest rushing touchdowns.

Defenders @ ORL $5,000

The Battlehawks have given up the most sacks this season and average only 16.7 points per game, third-worst in the league. The Defenders give up a ton of yards through the air, but some of that is because you absolutely can not run on them — they have given up a mere 439 rushing yards through six weeks, the best in the league. The Defenders are expensive, and they will give up some big plays in the passing game, but they are worth paying up for.
