The Best DraftKings NFL DFS Advice Week 10 (11/12/23)

Welcome back to my weekly DFS article! Last week was a gross slate that saw C.J. Stroud nuke the slate with 5 touchdowns. I played a couple of Stroud double stacks, but unfortunately didn’t dare to play a triple stack and I didn’t have any Noah Brown in my player pool. Tough pill to swallow as I was on many of the top plays this week, but couldn’t put it together. Anyway, let’s move on to a much better-looking week 10 main slate!

Quarterbacks

Trevor Lawrence ($6,000) vs. SF

Trevor Lawrence has been extremely disappointing from a fantasy perspective this year. He has only reached the 20-point mark once this season despite adding Calvin Ridley to the offense. I like this spot, coming off the bye week, for Lawrence to finally have a big game. The 49ers should lead throughout this game, forcing the Jaguars to throw the ball more. Their defense has been beatable through the air, and I’m hoping the game script will force the Jaguars to have to beat them through the air.

Kyler Murray ($5,900) vs. ATL

After 9 weeks, Kyler Murray will return from his late-season ACL injury versus the Atlanta Falcons in Arizona. Playing Murray in his first game back carries more risk than most quarterbacks on this slate. However, my main thesis for this play is that this will likely be the only time you can play Kyler Murray at low ownership with a sub-$6k salary. Despite the unknown, Murray has a chance to be the best point-per-dollar quarterback on the slate, should he play like his former self.

Running Backs

Austin Ekeler ($8,400) vs. DET

I’m having trouble pinpointing running backs I love this week. On slates where I struggle to identify great plays at running back, I tend to gravitate to the more expensive backs. So, Austin Ekeler is that payup option for me this week. At $8,400, Ekeler is $800 less than Christian McCaffrey this week and in a depleted Chargers’ offense, Ekeler’s ceiling is probably equal to that of McCaffrey’s. The Lions should provide a good opponent to game-stack Ekeler with, making him an even better play to me this week.

Travis Etienne ($7,100) vs. SF

In a sea of meh running back plays this week, Travis Etienne’s $7,100 price tag immediately catches the eye. He will undoubtedly pick up ownership given the surrounding running backs this week, but I find it extremely hard to pass up his price tag. Etienne has established himself as one of the best running backs in fantasy and he should be more expensive even against this 49ers defense.

Wide Receivers

Marquise Brown ($5,200) vs. ATL

We’ve seen Marquise Brown hover around this $5,200 pricetag all season with Joshua Dobbs and Clayton Tune as his quarterbacks. Now, he gets Kyler Murray back and his pricetag remains where it’s been all year. With very little competition at the WR position on this Cardinals’ roster, Hollywood should be in line for a huge game with his starting quarterback returning.

Tyler Boyd ($4,600) vs. HOU

My hope is the field this week will remember that Tyler Boyd did very little the last time Tee Higgins was out. But the Bengals are hot, and this is one of my favorite games this week. The game has a total of 46.5, the second-highest on the slate. C.J. Stroud and this Texans offense are red hot and should push Cincinnati to throw the ball often. All of this benefits Boyd and at $4,600, he is a must-play this week.

Tight Ends

Trey McBride ($3,500) vs. ATL

Continuing with my Arizona love this week, I love Trey McBride at his price. 2 weeks removed from an incredible performance versus the Ravens, McBride should be in line for a huge week with Kyler Murray returning. Let me remind you he earned 14 targets – yes 14 – to finish with 95 yards and a touchdown. At $3,500, he is the best value at the position this week.

Cade Otton ($3,400) vs. TEN

Cade Otton is coming off a monster 24-point game last week versus the Texans. He’s drawn 6+ targets in each of his last 3 games. And at $3,400 he looks like a phenomenal value tight end this week. If McBride picks up a lot of ownership, Otton would be a great leverage play assuming his ownership doesn’t also get steamed.

Defenses

Dallas Cowboys ($4,400) DAL vs. NYG

I rarely, if ever play a defense above $4k. I much prefer playing the cheap defense so I can save salary most of the time. But, this Dallas defense gets to face Tommy Devito and it feels almost certain that the Dallas defense will have a big game. This play reminds me of the Bills D/ST in week 3 when they were an expensive, chalky defense that put up 30 points and were a must-have in winning lineups.

Arizona Cardinals ($2,500) vs. ATL

If you would prefer to save some salary and fade the Cowboys, I think the Cardinals are a great option. They are one of the cheapest defenses on the slate at $2,500, and they face Taylor Heinicke. The Falcons a re my favorite cheap defense this week.
