The Most Overvalued and Undervalued Fantasy Players for Week 11

Every week we see more and more injuries, Covid-related issues, and uncertainties.  We check the wavier wires for replacements and try to make big trades before the deadline.  All of this while we prepare for playoffs which start in most leagues in 3 to 4 weeks.  With that being said, there is always room to trade for or trade away undervalued and overvalued players to right your ship before sailing into a championship.  Week 10 proved that we are right about some highly valuing players like DeAndre Hopkins, Alvin Kamara, and Big Ben Roethlisberger.  Week 10 also proved that we keep hoping for value out of some players like Carson Wentz, Mike Davis (as of the last 4 weeks), and Mike Gesicki and it doesn’t seem to be producing quite as we thought.  The overvalued and undervalued player could make or break a fantasy roster.  Here are just a few I have been pondering.

Overvalued

  1.  Micheal Thomas WR Saints.  Look I get it and this pains me as I am a huge Saints fan, but something just isn’t clicking this year.  Drafted in the first round ahead of some crazy names, Thomas just hasn’t gotten it together.  Granted he was out for 6 weeks with injuries and issues, but in the games he has played, he has yet to surpass 55 yards and hasn’t reached the end zone once.  Now that Brees is out with a rib injury, can Thomas and Winston right the ship?  I hope so.
  2. The Saints’ upcoming schedule is ATL, DEN, ATL, PHI, KC.  All of these defenses are porous and can be exposed.  We know Winston can air it out, and we know Thomas can run crazy fast.  I want to rank him in the top 10, but I cannot until we see if Thomas and Winston have chemistry since after Brees went down, Winston targeted Thomas 5 times.  Right now, I am hoping that my writing this article is a huge “You are Wrong and Thomas is right.”  For now, it is a wait and see, on someone drafted so high and has yet to crack the top WR15 on the season.
  • Cooper Kupp WR Rams.  Ok so this was Kupp’s year, right?  Wrong?  He just isn’t living up to his potential.  There are 2 other notable WRs in the Rams’ offense and even though Kupp gets targets, he has only broken 15 points in three games this season.  He also has only broken the Top 15 WR rankings twice.  I just think he cannot be trusted week in and week out, yet people keep riding high on him stating he is the WR to play in the Rams offense.  I disagree and would rather try to trade him away while you still can.

Undervalued

  1. Derek Carr QB Raiders.  Very quietly, Carr has helped his team secure wins in the last 3 games.  The Raiders it 6-3 in their division behind the Chiefs, who they beat earlier this season.  In his 7th year, he is getting better and managing the games more carefully with Gruden feeding him plays.  Carr is dare I say it, playing better than Lamar Jackson who was drafted in the first few rounds of fantasy drafts.  Carr is only rostered in 44% of ESPN Leagues, and I feel that this is very undervalued.  I feel that with their upcoming schedule of KC, ATL, NYJ, IND, and LAC through fantasy playoffs, IND is my only concerning game against the Colts Defense.  For those that just lost Brees, Bridgewater, or are in deeper 12 plus team leagues, Carr could be the key to securing a playoff berth.  I feel like its time to trust in Carr and Gruden.
  • J.D. McKissic RB Washington.  Now this is a sleeper undervalued player pick, but it is one I really like.  I know McKissic is the 2nd RB, but Alex Smith seems to really like McKissic and trusts him.  Week 9, McKissic posted 8.2 points (based on .5ppr) and Week 10 posted 10.9 points.  Now, that might not seem like much, but McKissic is getting the work as a WR and has been targeting 29 times over these last 2 weeks.  It’s clear that Smith trusts McKissic and so should you.  Grab McKissic if he is still available which might be slim as he jumped up 21.2% of ownership in ESPN leagues to now be rostered in 72% of fantasy teams.
