The Philadelphia Eagles Made NFL History Twice This Season

The Eagles made the playoffs this year for the third straight year under head coach Doug Pederson. While that is a remarkable feat, (The Steelers missed the playoffs two years in a row with more talent at the skill positions under Mike Tomlin) that is not what this article is about. The most notable feat is the obvious one. Eagles star QB Carson Wentz became the first QB in NFL history to throw for 4,000 yards without a WR having at least 500 yards receiving. Every Eagles fan and NFL fan already knows that. The second feat is equally impressive and has not been given the attention that the team deserves.

For the very first time in NFL History, The Eagles own the series record over The New Jersey Giants!! Thanks to two very exciting wins this season over their long-time divisional rival New York Giants (New Jersy lol) The Eagles now have won 85 games over the Giants giving them the series lead at 85-83-1. We can thank the overrated Giants QB Eli Manning for this as he is 4-19 against our Birds since he entered the league. With him likely retiring this season The Eagles will face QB Daniel Jones who they beat once this year as well 34-17 for the foreseeable future.

Yes, Jones is certainly an improvement over the worst Manning QB of all the Manning QBs to have played in the NFL, but the Eagles know how to rattle the young QB into mistakes, and with The Eagles D line not only remaining intact for some time but actually improving with unexpected excellent play from DE Josh Sweat and DT Anthony Rush the results should remain the same. Gone are the days of Lawrence Taylor.

The future belongs to Carson Wentz, Boston Scott, Miles Sanders, Andre Dillard, Fletch, and many more star Eagles players. The Philadelphia Eagles should easily be able to make it 87-83-1 this upcoming season. For decades the Giants held the series record over the Eagles. Now the Eagles own the Giants. Why will it remain soo easy for The Eagles to continue owning the Giants? There are three reasons. 1: They will always be able to beat up on The Giants terrible Oline and get pressure on QB Daniel Jones. 2: Dave Gettleman is somehow still the Giants GM lol. 3: When healthy, and even when not healthy The Eagles simply own the Giants due to master play-caller Doug Pederson.

My predictions for next season in the two games The Eagles play The New Jersy Giants this upcoming season. They’ll win a close one on the road 20-17 because it’s still a huge rivalry. At home, The Eagles will destroy the so-called G men  52-10, and RB Boston Scott will run for another 3 TDs against them in this victory. We lost in the playoffs due to a dirty and illegal hit by Seahawks DE Jadeveon Clowney on Eagles star QB Carson Wentz. I truly believe if he hadn’t illegally hit Wentz which knocked him out of the game The Eagles would have won the game 23-17 and advanced to the divisional round. That said this is the NFL, well be better next season in my opinion and its time to move on…after Clowney is banned from the NFL. In all seriousness, Eagles fans should be proud of this season and the amazing goal that our team has quietly accomplished against the Giants. My father’s Eagles always lost to the Giants. My Philadelphia Eagles seem to always beat The Giants! I believe that this trend will continue for some time. Could we make 100-83-1? It would not surprise me. Let’s go Birds!
