The Philadelphia Eagles Would Have Two Super Bowl Rings If Not for Spy Gate

I could write a book about the subject matter regarding this article. What true Philadelphia Eagles fan could not? The fact is the New England Patriots are known cheaters. No other team in the NFL has been caught, fined, and punished by the league for bending the rules more than the Patriots have. I believe that they’ve won (fairly that is) maybe half of there Super Bowl Championships if that. RB Marshall Faulk of The then St. Louis Rams (now L.A. Rams) vehemently believes that his Rams were robbed of a Super Bowl Championship. This would be the first of many that the Patriots would win by bending and even breaking the rules designed to make playing NFL Football a fair game.

The only one that I believe They won fairly without any doubt at all would be their comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl 50.  I could certainly be wrong. The Patriots have also been caught cheating a league-high 17 times by the NFL for cheating in some form. They’ve been docked several first-round draft picks, they’ve been fined countless times, but they still have rings on their fingers that they should not possess. The game that obviously irks me the most is Super Bowl 39 because the Patriots clearly used Spy-Gate aginst my Philadelphia Eagles and quite literally stole a Super Bowl Ring from my team. I’d be even more ticked off if we hadn’t had our revenge when we downed the patriots for our first Super Bowl victory In Super Bowl 52. Let’s move on to the facts. It’s not speculation in my opinion. These are indeed proven facts.

While It is indeed horrible that the pats have cheated in regular-season games, and playoff games to get to The Super Bowl God only knows how many times, I am going to focus on this particular game itself. I’ve gone back and I’ve watched the game tape countless times.

Despite the score being all tied up 7 to 7 at the half The Philadelphia Eagles were certainly moving the football on offense and were dominating The Patriots on defense in the first half. Then in the second half, the Eagles had a little bit more trouble moving the football although they did keep the game very close and were able to score two more touchdowns. The Patriots offense that struggled mightily against the Eagles stout Dline and talented secondary in the first half suddenly had answers. Was this simply a coincidence? I think not. Former Eagles kicker David Akers has mentioned during several interviews that he noticed several oddities as to how The Patriots adjusted in the second half of this game. He was certainly not alone.  Former Eagles Coach Andy Reid was completely baffled as to how the Patriots were able to have success against Their rarely used dime package defense in the second half. How they seemingly just had answers for that defense that the Eagles broke out in the second half of the game.

Former Eagles Saftey Brian Dawkins had the same exact question and the two finally opened up in an interview (along with some anonymous former players and staffers) with Mr. Elliot Shore Parks of NJ Advance Media at the time. (He is now on NFL Network).  One former staffer believes that the Patriots stole The Eagles signals via Spygate and thus were prepared for The Eagles dime defense. many former players believe there is no possible way that the Patriots would have been able to read that defense without having access to a tape of the team’s practices.

As previously stated I have personally gone back and watched the game tape. I am one hundred percent convinced The patriots cheated in order to win what would be a tight ball game that the patriots would quote on quote win by 3 points 24 to 21. I believe they truly robbed The City of Philadelphia from a championship. Here is the most troubling part: Two seasons later, the Patriots would be caught by the NFL for videotaping the signals of opposing teams since Belichick was hired in 2000. Old Bill Belichick and Tom Brady and the rest of the Patriots organization had indeed been using Spygate since the year 2000!! Upon learning this Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie would have a meeting with NFL commissioner Rodger Goodell. He questioned the patriot’s legitimacy in winning the football game. Unfortunately, Goodell who is ironically really good friends with Patriots owner Robert Craft did not have much to say.

Here is a fun fact: Did you know that The Eagles ran fake plays during walkthroughs during the majority of their practices before they would defeat The cheating patriots during Suber Bowl 52? Well, they did. C Jason Kelce and former Eagles TE Trey Burton laughed about how they ran plays in practice just in case The patriots were watching somehow that they had never even heard of. It is a good thing that Eagles Head Coach had the wits to do this. If the patriots did send scouts to tape the Eagles practices they obviously came away with nothing useful. I obviously wouldn’t put it past The patriots. Think about that for a second. The Philadelphia Eagles were suspicious enough of The patriots and their known culture of cheating that they ran several walkthroughs in which they ran plays they never run. They were essentially fake walkthroughs!!! Gee, I wonder why The Eagles felt the need to do that. Insert sarcastic emoji.

Eagles Head Coach Doug Pederson is a genius for doing that. Quite frankly who really knows if the Eagles still win Super Bowl 52 41 to 33 over The cheating Patriots if he didn’t have this ingenious idea? Give Pederson credit where credits due. He did everything it took to bring Philly a hard-earned Super Bowl Victory. While it’s great that we have a Super Bowl Championship that The Eagles earned by taking down the pats, I just know in my gut that we would have two Super Bowl Championships by beating the pats both times we played them in the Super Bowl if the had not cheated.

The evidence is obviously there. How many times did the pats cheat in order to achieve the ultimate goal in the NFL? We know about how many times they’ve been caught, and games in which the evidence suggests they clearly did such as Super Bowl 39. I just can’t help but wonder how many times they have created throughout the years since 2000 altogether. Is it in the hundreds? My gut says that it is.

Side Note: Here are a couple of nuggets to think about. How can New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton be suspended by NFL Commissioner Rodger Godell for an entire season back in 2012 why on earth hasn’t the same happened to Bill Belichick?? If the Penn State Nittany Lions were stripped of all their College Championships and wins in wake of the aftermath of their situation back in 2013 why has this not happened to The Patriots? It should.
