The Ultimate Buy Low/Sell High Guide: Week 9

Let’s talk trades.

SELL HIGH

Damien Harris, RB, New England Patriots

Five of New England’s next seven games are against top-five fantasy defenses against the RB. Harris hasn’t performed well when pitted against top run defenses this season. He finished as RB55 against New Orleans (fourth against fantasy RBs) and RB49 against Tampa Bay (12th against fantasy RBs). His value is as high as it will be after RB15, RB3, and RB21 finishes.

Robert Woods, WR, Los Angeles Rams

Woods is the eighth-ranked WR since Week 4! That blew my mind considering how great his teammate Cooper Kupp has been playing. His production has been primarily based on TDs which can fluctuate wildly from week to week and season to season. He ranks 23rd in targets, 30th in receptions, and 31st in receiving yards on the season. That volume shows negative TD regression in his future.

BUY LOW

Tee Higgins, WR, Cincinnati Bengals

Higgins has been the 25th ranked WR in each of the last two weeks and is the 30th ranked WR on the year. Since returning from injury in Week 5 he has received 34 targets. To put that into perspective, rookie sensation Ja’Marr Chase has received 35 targets in that same timeframe. The TDs will come and then you’ll have a top 20 WR on your team.

Travis Kelce, TE, Kansas City Chiefs

It sure doesn’t feel like he’s the number one TE on the season. Kelce had two games outside the top 24 between 2017 and 2020. He has two of those already this season. Maybe it was the mustache? It will take a big offer to obtain Kelce, but the manager who has him in your league is frustrated so *try* capitalizing on it.

Dalvin Cook, RB, Minnesota Vikings

This one is easy considering he currently sits as the 28th ranked fantasy RB despite being drafting number two overall. He’s been incredibly mediocre. He only has two TDs on the season despite being fourth in opportunity share among RBs. He is a bellcow who is due for positive TD regression. This is the lowest his value has dipped in two seasons. Pounce on it and secure a bonafide RB1 with number one overall upside.
