The Upcoming 2016 Smite Combine Gives New Competitive Players A Chance To Prove Themselves

As Smite’s Season 2 comes to a close it becomes time to start looking at what new players can hope for in Season 3. Along with a new Joust map, a new quest system, and a series of upgrades (all found here), comes a chance for players to begin their next competitive season with a bang. Hi-Rez and Tiermonster have teamed up to bring us the 2016 Smite Combine and, much like last season’s Combine, it will be an essential place for players to get in contact with scouts and vice versa. Let’s take a look at what exactly the Smite Combine is and how you can become a part of it.

Overview/Format

The Combine will take place over two weekends: January 23 – 24, 30 – 31, with the first weekend dedicated to North American players, the second to European. The players will be assigned to a team with a team captain (No pre-made teams!), a position, and a date of play. Players will learn of their team and position 1 day before the event begins (Jan. 22) and must then check into the Tiermonster website 1 hour before their match begins.

The Combine gives players one round to show off their skills to the scouts. After the match is over, players are done competing. After the Combine, players’ performance reviews will be available on the Tiermonster website.

Player Requirements

  • Your account must be level 30
  • You must be at least Platinum 5 in Leagues: Conquest
  • Your account must be in good standing
  • You must be at least 13 years of age as pursuant of the Smite Terms of Service
  • You must be able to use the DISCORD voice communication software.

If all of these are met, you can sign up for the event here!

Scout Info

Once you’ve applied to be a scout here, your application will be reviewed by the Hi-Rez and Tiermonster staff. Once you are selected to be a scout, you will be assigned a team (or multiple teams) to review and you will be responsible for filling out a “Report Card” for each player that consists of a performance ranking, a personal ranking, and a notes section. You will be given step-by-step instructions on how to submit those reviews electronically.

We wish every new competitor luck in this event, and even more luck in Smite Season 3!
