What a time to be an MMA fan, 3 events in the past week, and one more in the immediate horizon. Lucky us!! That being said, let’s see if we can make some money on UFC on ESPN 30 aka Fight Island 2.
Alexandre Pantoja vs Askar Askarov
Askarov is coming into this fight with a scary record, normally when you see a fighter that’s undefeated you tend to want to side with them. However, Pantoja is gonna prove to be more than Askarov can handle. Pantoja is one of those guys that has power you don’t normally see within the flyweight division. This guy is 4-1 in his last 5 fights with 3 of those victories coming in the way of stoppage. In fact, 2 of those victories were in the form of a first-round knockout, and Pantoja is always looking to end his fights quickly. Don’t mark him as just a striker though, he has some very good wrestling to assist him getting victories. I’m predicting Pantoja winning and perhaps that’ll come within the distance.Â
The line I like the most for this fight is Pantoja Moneyline at -195, grab it quickly as I think the odds will change in his favor
Rafael Fiziev vs Marc Diakiese
The 155 division is stacked with talent more than ever, Marc Bonecrusher Diakiese is one of those prospects. Having had a bit of a rough start, Bonecrusher is now coming into his own. His last two fights showing he can be an elite type of fighter that controls the octagon and the pace. Fiziev is also a great striker but he has had trouble with quicker moving opponents and is taking this fight on 5 days’ notice! We know how badly fighters take bouts on short notice do in the UFC, especially a fighter as inexperienced as Fiziev who is at 1-1 in the UFC. I expect Bonecrusher to control the fight from the get-go and work Fiziev into a ground an pound.
