Ultimate Fantasty Rookie Report 2023 Week 2

Poor Nick Chubb had his leg contort in the most grotesque way on national television Monday Night Football. Chubb has easily been one of the best running backs in the league for years and it’s sad to see him go down that way. To lose two second round running backs this week (Saquon Barkley also got hurt) is pretty brutal in a depressed running back market for fantasy managers. Will we find the answer in this rookie column?

No.

Rookies are put in order based on their points in a standard PPR league.

5. Tank Dell (20.2)

Touchdowns are an easy way to make it on this list. 7 catches for 72 yards will also help to cement one’s spot. If Dell can gel with Stroud, this could be a formidable duo for a long time.

4. Marvin Mims Jr (20.3)

Marvin Mims scoffs at the high volume types of players that most fantasy managers crave for our game. Instead of being a target monster, all Mims needed was 2 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown. Easy game, right?

3. Bijan Robinson (21.2)

Bijan is gonna Bijan. 19 carries for 124 yards and 4 catches for 48. He is the first round pick most analysts expected him to be.

2. CJ Stroud (21.46)

Stroud threw a whopping 47 passes on Sunday. 384 yards and 2 touchdowns are a great day for anyone, especially a rookie. The real question is, has Stroud developed this significantly from one week to the next? Or is this an Indianapolis Colts defense problem? It’s probably more of the latter, but maybe a little of both.

1. Puka Nacua (30.1)

This week, Puka caught 15 passes for 147 yards. If it was just 15 targets, it would be a lot for anyone. Puka had 20 targets. For comparison’s sake, Justin Jefferson had 13, CeeDee Lamb had 13, Tee Higgins had 12. Twenty is A LOT. I hope you picked up Puka Nacua on waivers last week. If he’s still out there in your league for some weird reason, grab him immediately. After two weeks, he is literally the second best player in fantasy football. It’s an even more impressive feat when you realize he’s pulled it off with 0 touchdowns.

Who else is excited to watch the Giants get stomped on national television again on Thursday night?
