Ultimate Fantasy Rookie Performances to Follow: Week 4

Overall, it was a down week for some fantasy superstars. However, a few rookies are starting to be mainstays on this list. It’s exciting to see these kids turn into superstars in their own right.

Shoutout to George Pickens who had the catch of the week. Too bad his quarterback situation is subpar and he can’t get the ball on a regular basis.

On to the regularly scheduled countdown. As always, PPR points are in parentheses.

6. Garrett Wilson (12)

I wouldn’t usually put the sixth place fantasy rookie on the countdown, but he’s consistently been so good for so long. Despite a painful looking rib injury sustained early in the second quarter, Wilson still managed to get targeted 10 times and catch six balls for 60 yards. Hopefully, his style meshes well with the other Wilson as Zach takes over quarterbacking for the Jets in the near future.

5. Drake London (14.4)

After an uncharacteristically low number of targets this week, Drake London’s fantasy week was bailed out by a third quarter touchdown. London went 3/6 on catches for 54 yards and a touchdown. Fantasy managers will take points any way they can get them and London should continue to be in lineups going forward.

4. Breece Hall (15.2)

I am quite honestly very confused with the running back situation in New York. Michael Carter had more carries but Breece Hall had more catches. It’s like a bizarro world away from what I imagined would happen. Hall continues beating Carter and the sooner Robert Saleh realizes this,the better the team will be for it. Where I have some concerns for Garrett Wilson, Zach Wilson loves checking down to the RB. Hall’s fantasy production should only continue to climb.

3. Dameon Pierce (18.1)

Dameon Pierce had the workhorse kind of day fantasy managers expected after watching the preseason. 20 carries led to 80 yards and a touchdown. He also snagged 2 catches for 21 yards. The only problem is that he also had 2 fumbles. Coaches never like guys who put the ball on the ground. It’s hard to tell what they’re doing down in Houston, so it’s hard to project how Pierce will be going forward. Is he the bellcow going forward or did he just eat against a weak Chicago defense? We can only wait and see.

2. Romeo Doubs (21.3)

This is the Romeo Doubs we heard about in training camp! Aaron Rodgers has to be happy with a wide receiver who catches all 8 targets for 73 yards and a touchdown. Receivers can make a career with Aaron Rodgers’ trust, so Doubs is definitely someone to utilize going forward.

1. Chris Olave (23.7)

That’s my number two pick of the preseason! Chris Olave caught 9/13 passes for 147 yards. The chemistry with Jameis Winston looks like it’s finally coming together. The passes are going to keep coming with both Michael Thomas and Jarvis Landry getting hurt last week. With the talent that Olave has, he can backdoor into WR 1, thanks to having a quarterback who likes taking risks there is a major potential for points going forward. Given Winston’s love of throwing the deep ball and Olave’s talent, Olave can easily backdoor into rookie WR 1 this season.
