Ultimate Rookie Report Week 16

POINTS POINTS POINTS

The rookies decided to ball out this week. I’m so proud of my boys. Unless your name is Zay Flowers or Bijan Robinson. In those cases, do better.

These five boys were the bestest boys in a week of great scores.

5. Rashee Rice (24.1)

Analysts keep saying the Kansas City Chiefs have a skill position problem. They have not been paying attention to Rashee Rice. The rest of the wideouts are admittedly trash. This week Rashee only caught 9 of 9 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown. Rice had more, well, everything than Kelce, who has been Mahomes favorite target for years.

4. Jahmyr Gibbs (24.8)

Dan Campbell remembered he had two good running backs to use! Gibbs had less attempts than Montgomery (11 to 17) but beat him in every category. Gibbs had 100 yards to Montgomery’s 85, one touchdown to zero and 2 catches for 8 yards to Montgomery’s 2 for -3. There’s hope that going forward through fantasy playoffs that Gibbs will continue to flourish for fantasy managers.

3. Aidan O’Connell (25.92)

What even was this game? It was so odd that it has been completely wiped from everyone’s mind. I am, of course, speaking about the 63-21 Thursday night game that had both the Chargers coach and General Manager fired. O’Connell went 20/34 for 248 yards and four touchdowns. Good for you, buddy. Every quarterback not named Bryce Young deserves a chance to make this list at some point and this week was your week!

2. Sam LaPorta (28.6)

LaPorta is literally two tenths of a point on the season away from overtaking Travis Kelce for second place for tight end points. LaPorta had 56 yards this week and a measly THREE TOUCHDOWNS. He’s so good, guys.

1. Jordan Addison (29.1)

It appears that, with Justin Jefferson back, the Bengals forgot that Jordan Addison can also play football well. Addison caught all six balls that came his way for 111 yards and two touchdowns. If only there was a real quarterback throwing him the ball.

Today is my wife’s birthday and I have to publicly thank her for all the help editing this thing every week. It’s mostly putting in a ton of commas to make it readable. She also managed to make it all the way to 321 in Scott Fishbowl this year. (Editor/Wife’s Note: I also had the top seed going into playoffs in two of the three fantasy football leagues that we play in together.) I will never hear the end of it. She’s the best.

If you’re still in the playoffs, YAY. If not, I’m sorry, there’s always next year!

Happy Honda Days!

Fantasy football is a game. Let's have some fun with it. I've been playing for over twenty years and I'm just starting to write. Please be gentle.
