Ultimate Rookie Report Week 5

MULTIBALL MADNESS

Welcome to multiple touchdown week! If you were a star in the NFL you probably scored multiple times. McCaffrey had 4, AJ Brown had 2, Diggs had 3, Montgomery had 3, Lamar had 2… My point is: the stars balled out. Did any rookies get in on the action?

Fantasy points dictate who made it to the countdown this week.

5. CJ Stroud (21.84)

The Pittsburgh Steelers are historically known for their defense. CJ Stroud ignored that fact. 16/30 isn’t a great completion percentage, but 306 yards and 2 touchdowns is a solid outing.

4. Michael Wilson (26.6)

The Arizona Cardinals defense got completely gashed by Christian McCaffrey this week. Being down by so much made the Cards abandon the run game entirely and Josh Dobbs had to throw the ball a whopping 41 times. Michael Wilson caught all 7 of his targets for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns.

3. De’von Achane (27)

Like the Cards, the Dolphins game got out of hand and they had to abandon the run game early on. Achane only had 8 rushes and 3 catches on the day. He wouldn’t be on this list if he had a bad day though. It only took him 8 rushes to get 101 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added 3 catches for 19 yards. Achane is the real deal and it’s fun watching him grow.

2. Anthony Richardson (29.6)

There were questions about Richardson’s accuracy coming out of college. Those problems are very real. This week he only completed 11 of his 25 passes. However, those 11 passes went for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns. On top of the yards through the air, Richardson knows how to use his legs. With 10 rushes,+ he managed 56 yards and a touchdown. That’s the real value of using Anthony Richardson in fantasy.

1. Puka Nacua (31.3)

Puka Nacua just keeps setting records. He has the most catches (39) and yards (501) for a player’s first four games in the NFL. Currently he leads the league in receptions and trails only Justin Jefferson by 42 yards. This week, he had 9 receptions for 163 yards. He also finally got his first touchdown! It only took overtime to do it, but he got there! YAY! I still have some major concerns about how everything works with Cooper Kupp allegedly coming back from injured reserve soon, but Nacua’s talent should nevertheless continue to shine. Nacua is currently the 6th best player in all of fantasy football regardless of position.
Oddly enough, Puka Nacua was the only one on the list to not score 2 touchdowns this week. Somebody forgot to give the Rams the memo.

Have a good week friends!
