Ultimate Rookie Report Week 8

The Atlanta Falcons did the fantasy world dirty this week. Despite knowing Bijan Robinson had “a bad headache” and was unlikely to play, they didn’t tell the league. A first round pick in fantasy drafts, it would have been nice to have any type of designation at all. Instead Bijan played 11 snaps and had 1 carry for 3 yards. The NFL is looking into it, but that doesn’t give fantasy managers any points. Hopefully he feels better soon.

These people did well for you if you used them in a PPR style fantasy football contest.

5. Rashee Rice (17)

Rashee Rice is turning into Mahomes’ favorite wide receiver. Travis Kelce had double the catches that Rice had targets, so it’s a technicality, but the fact still remains. Five catches on six targets for sixty yards and a touchdown is a healthy week. Rice has had three weeks straight of double digit fantasy points. He’s a decent flex play if he’s still available in your league.

4. Puka Nacua (23.4)

Cooper Kupp sucked this week. There’s no way to sugar coat it. The only reason the Rams were in this game at all was because of Puka. Eight catches on twelve targets led to a 154 yard day for Puka. This kid is a target and reception (and fantasy point) monster.

3. Josh Downs (23.5)

This game broke my brain. I thought the Browns defense was supposed to be an insane juggernaut. Instead, they almost lost to a team that doesn’t even have their starting quarterback in the highest scoring game of the week. Anywho, Josh Downs has come on as of late, since the loss of Anthony Richardson.  This week, he caught five passes for 125 yards and a touchdown. Downs has had double digit fantasy points for three weeks straight.

2. Jahmyr Gibbs (27.6)

This game also broke my brain. In no world did I think the Lions were this bad and that the Ravens were that good. Go figure. Gibbs caught 9 balls for 58 yards and had 11 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown.

1. Jordan Addison (31.3)

I really wish Jordan Addison would stop rubbing it in my face that I faded him all draft season. He single handedly beat the 49ers this week. Addison caught 7 of 10 passes thrown his way for 123 yards and 2 touchdowns. I thought the lack of Justin Jefferson would make it harder for Addison to produce, but it turns out he’s just blossoming into a superstar all his own.

Maybe next week will make more sense in the NFL. Maybe.

Good luck out there!
