Week 13 Overvalued/Undervalued

I hope everyone in fantasy football land had an amazing Thanksgiving with friends and family.  I took a small hiatus from writing to spend time with loved ones.  Turkey Day football saw the Bears defeat the Lions despite rumors of Coach Nagy being fired.  The Raiders beat the Cowboys in OT, and the Bills manhandled my Saints.

The remainder of the weekend’s games saw the Patriots (wrote about Mac Jones being undervalued two weeks ago and he showed out again!) crush the Titans to advance to the top of the AFC East.  It also made us think twice about Cam Newton’s return.  We are getting close to fantasy playoffs and the wavier wire is thin due to injuries, but I am still here pointing out the good, bad, and ugly.

Overvalued

Russell Wilson QB Seahawks

Is it just me or is Seattle imploding?  I am not sure if it is Coach Carroll, the locker room, the vibe after Wilson and Carson’s injuries, or what, but this isn’t the team we are used to seeing.  Granted, they play in a tough division but they currently sit 3-8 and last in the NFC West, and are now set to miss the playoffs for the first time since 2017.  As a fantasy football fanatic and writer, I can’t necessarily blame this all on Wilson as he had 247 yards on Sunday vs Washington, but his throws seem erratic and off.

He still is a great QB with an amazing supporting cast in Metcalf, Lockett, and Everett, so why aren’t they clicking anymore.  Hell, Metcalf wasn’t even targeted until the 3rd quarter.  There is a chance Russ gets traded in the off-season which might be a refreshing change for him.  Sometimes people get complacent.  The scary thing is that he has had his lowest completion percentage in four years and coming off his injury, he has looked less energetic, less accurate, less Superman-like.  Is that a problem for potential teams?  Regardless, I don’t like Wilson this weekend vs 49ers.  I’d rather throw a dart at Taylor, Hill, or Wentz if they are still on the wavier.

Matthew Stafford QB Rams

I will be the first to admit that I was extremely high on Stafford.  I have followed him from his days at Georgia and swore that by moving him into a winning system, with a capable head Coach in McVey, and an outstanding supporting cast, that he would thrive.

Thrive he did early in the season winning 7 of their first 8 games but now have posted three losses.  He has not had over 100% OB rating and has five interceptions.  I personally thought the bye week would refocus the team, but they looked sluggish and disorganized versus the red-hot Packers.  Stafford was under pressure the entire game.  The Rams have a get-right game next week versus the Jags, but then the schedule continues to be rough with Arizona, Seattle, Minnesota, Baltimore, and San Francisco.

So maybe it wasn’t completely the Lions organization that held Stafford back.  Maybe, he is just an aging QB who can’t scramble as well as he used to.  The money I have on the Rams to win the Superbowl is looking like money wasted at this point.  I do think it is tough to not start him considering the alternatives, but temper expectations.

Undervalued

Jaylen Waddle WR Dolphins

Ok, this might be too late as I doubt he is on waivers anywhere, but this might be a great time to trade for or trade away the rookie WR, especially in dynasty.  Waddle has quickly taken over as the rookie WR to own as Chase is competing for targets in Cincinnati with Higgins and Boyd, and Smith has an unreliable QB in Hurts.

The Dolphins love to pass and with his fellow wideouts in Fuller and Parker hurt, he has reaped the benefits.  Currently, he sits as the WR #16 for Week 13 according to FantasyPros.com.  Waddle faces a porous Giants secondary, then has a bye.  Let’s think about fantasy playoffs, he will face the Jets, Saints, and Titans which all have struggled as of late to stop the deep threat ball where Waddle thrives.  I have been a Waddle believer since the beginning, and I hold him in numerous leagues.  After his 100+ yard game Week 12 vs Carolina, you might find teams jumping to grab him.  So, think of what you need and go big!  If you choose to hold, he will still produce year two.

There it is folks…. happy Week 13!  Hit me up on Twitter @luvtractor3 and let’s talk!
