Why Everyone is Wrong About KD Except Me

The sky is falling, the sky is falling, THE SKY IS FALLING! Kevin Durant decided to sign a contract with the Golden State Warriors, oh my GOD!  What is the world coming to?  Up is down, down is up, cats are living with dogs, it’s the chaos foretold by the coming of Gozer (if you don’t know who Gozer is, go fuck yourself).

For whatever reason, Durant going to the Warriors is the worst thing ever and I don’t fucking know why, in fact, last season the Warriors were the darlings of the NBA, they were the upstarts of the league who were going to take down the “evil” LeBron James.  Fast forward a whole year and everyone hates the Warriors and rooting for LeBron.

What the fuck happened?

Well, the Warriors had the gall to break the Bulls single season record, how dare they, those inconsiderate bastards, Michael Jordan is god and how dare they challenge him.

First of all, fuck all of you who decided to hate the Warriors for winning 73, you’re a bunch old fogies who don’t like change.  You’re worse than baseball fans.  Records exist to be broken and if you get all butt hurt because a team in a city that you’ve probably never been to (bunch of bandwagoners) loses their record then you’re petty.

So everyone hates the Warriors because they broke the Bulls record and the only thing standing in their way from being better than those Bulls is the title.  So naturally all those “Bulls fans” out there were rooting for them to fail.

So a great(est) team fell one game short winning the titles and a player who fell one game short of going to the title game decided it was best to pull their talents together to win a title together.  HOW FUCKING DARE THEY!

Seriously people, put down the fucking pitchforks, the ultimate goal of these guys is to win a title.  We lash out at players who decide to take truckloads of money to go to a shit team instead of taking a pay cut to win a title.  So Keven Durant decides to take a pay cut at his best chance to win a title and do we sing his praises, do we say “Hey, look at KD, the most important thing to him is a title, not money.”  Nope, we didn’t say that (well I said it and as I’ve proven time and time again I am vastly smarter than you and your tiny, minuscule brain).  What did the collective hive mind of sports fans who are too dumb to form their own opinion say?  “Fuck KD, he’s only doing it for a title, he could have made more money in OKC!”

Give me a fucking break.  Being a professional athlete is a job to these guys, in fact, a recent poll done in the NFL revealed that over 70% of NFL players don’t actually like playing football, they do it for the money and that they’re good at it.  I assure you the numbers are probably pretty similar for the NBA.

It’s a job, and he is an employee.  He simply left one company in his field where he felt he was at the peak of what he could do there for another company that he feels he has a better opportunity at, not to mention has better management (Steve Kerr) and I’ve been to Norther California and Oklahoma City, and guess which is a better place to live, especially if you’re a multi-millionaire, here’s a hint, it’s not OKC.

I think what people are really mad at is that next year the Warriors are going to win probably 75 games and steamroll their way to a title and will, rightfully so, be better than any Bulls team ever, and only second to the original Dream Team as far as greatest basketball team ever, EVER!  And you know what, I fucking hate the NBA, but I will revel in that accomplishment by them, I will burn a Jordan jersey while attending the Warriors’ championship parade, I don’t even live in California but I’ll be out there cheering on the greatest NBA team ever, in fact, not only will they surpass the Bulls’ single-season accomplishment, but will win more than 6 titles as well and Steph Curry will be heralded to be the G.O.A.T and all you Jordan fans (probably none of you reading this were old enough to seem him play for the Bulls) will have to eat crow as Jordan becomes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, or Wilt Chamberlain, or Bill Russel, i.e., players you’ve probably never heard of (for fucking shame by the way) who are phenomenally great but Jordan gets all their hype because he played in the 90’s and you all are too lazy to know your NBA history.  I fucking hate basketball and I know this shit.

So there you have it, you all are hypocrites and are just all around terrible fucking people for hating on Kevin Durant’s decisions to go play for the Warriors.  I for one applaud the man for putting a title above money, and I’m preordering my Warriors’ KD jersey.  Not that I’m going to watch a single game or really care about the outcome of their season but I’m going to wear it to spite all you hateful mother fuckers out there.
