Why I Hate Adrian Peterson

The was a period of time where I was indifferent on Adrian Peterson or on the rare occasion I had him on my fantasy team, I downright loved him, in the last year that has all changed.  In the last year we’ve gotten to see the real Peterson, whether he was just really good about hiding his real self or his agent was good at it, it doesn’t matter, we now know the real Peterson.  So  this is why I Hate Adrian Peterson.  Note how I didn’t quote Keith Olbermann this week.

Beats His Child:  From my previous posts you know I don’t joke about domestic abuse, in my mind it takes a sick individual to beat someone weaker and smaller than them, especially with a switch (a thin stick for those of you not from the south).  I know what some of you might be thinking (or yelling at your screen right now) “but my mom and dad beat me when I was a child and I was better off for it…” and you know what, you’re wrong.  Spanking or using a switch are worthless, especially when used on a child as young as four, which was the age of Peterson’s son.  All it teaches children is how to be a bully.

In a child’s mind all a spanking shows them is that you’re bigger and they did something that you didn’t like so you used your size to physically punish them.  You know what that’s called?  It’s called being a bully.  Again I know what you’re thinking “NO I SPANKED MY CHILD BECAUSE THEY DID SOMETHING THEY WEREN’T SUPPOSED TO!”  First, stop using all caps, that’s annoying, and secondly they don’t know that.  Most people who hit their children don’t bother to explain why, they just do it.  You know what works better than using a switch, is firmly explaining to your child what they did wrong and punish them accordingly that doesn’t involve hitting.  And it’s not like Peterson just lightly swatted at his child (which still isn’t appropriate) the child had welts and his skin was broken, make no bones about it, Peterson beat his child and is a piece of shit for doing so.

His 30th Birthday Party:  First and foremost, after your 21st birthday there isn’t a reason for having some big blowout bash, mostly because you’re a fucking adult and birthdays don’t mean shit.  Seriously, I know people who are in their 40’s who have “birthday weeks” and take the whole fucking week off from work, fuck them.  This is the most childish shit an adult can do, you know besides bullying a child (see above). Now Peterson’s party alone isn’t enough to hate him, but the timing and the manner certainly are.  This party came just off the heels of his year long suspension for beating his son as well as supposed tampering by Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones who told Peterson (who isn’t a free agent) how he’d like to have him in Dallas.

One would think that when you’re surrounded by controversy in a league that’s been battling controversy all year long you’d want to lay low and not attract too much attention.  Not Peterson, he was like “fuck it, I do what I want!”  So he throws is big Middle Eastern Party… Wait, what?  What the fuck?  Yeah the theme of the party was the Middle East where Peterson rode into the party on a camel wearing a turban and traditional Indian garb.  Then their were guest wearing various Indian and Muslim outfits which tells me to Peterson and his party goers that Muslims and Hindus are one and the same.  How is this not considered racist?  Oh wait, yes it’s racist, really fucking racist.

His Latest Twitter Rant:  Since his suspension by the Vikings last year for being a dirtbag child beater last season to say that Peterson’s relationship with the Vikings has been rocky would be an understatement.  Put that with Jerry Jones telling Peterson that he’d be a good fit in Dallas (because with the signing of Greg Hardy we know Jones doesn’t give a shit what kind of person you are and who you beat as long as your good at football) and now Peterson wants out of Minnesota.  So last night he went on a twitter rant about his contract and how unfair contracts are in the NFL towards players.  He has a bit of a point, but at the same time he agreed to this same contract he’s now bitching about.  He complains about how teams can terminate a contract whenever they want and the players are left in the lurch.  He does have a point with that, but here is the thing, players know all this, which is why they have a union and the union is supposed to fight for their rights.

Also the players can negotiate for guaranteed money (which always seems to prevent them from getting cut).  However, it isn’t his problem with contracts that I have a problem with, it’s the fact a 30 year old man went on a Twitter rant.  Seriously, are you a 15 year old girl?  No, you’re a fucking man, a man who shouldn’t whine like a teenager.  Also I’m offended by his grammar, holy shit is it terrible.  “There’s never no talk about honoring a contract”  “…Research how many NFL teams hasn’t honored a player’s contract…”  That’s just some of it.  If you’re going to rant like a high schooler at least use the grammar you should have learned in high school. He’s Part of the Problem:  Like Jerry Jones signing of Greg Hardy and wanting Adrian Peterson just proves the said age old rule of sports, “If you’re really good it doesn’t matter that you’re a terrible human.”  Maybe Jones is part of the problem and not Peterson, oh well, fuck him and fuck Peterson. At least we can rest easy knowing that Ray Rice isn’t in the league anymore.

Adrian Peterson is a complete piece of shit.  Sure I can make up a bull shit list about why you should hate LeBron James and go on and on and on about how terrible he is (he isn’t, but still fuck him) but with someone like Peterson I don’t have to.  He’s a real life terrible person and it seems like he’s made a great effort to show us his true self.
