Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 12/1/15

Well, after a five-day hiatus from writing, I’m finally back. For the long-time readers, most of you know I work in retail as my day job, so the Black Friday weekend is extremely busy for me. I was too exhausted to write. Thanksgiving is over though, and I hope everyone had a good one? My Fanduel lineups suffered a little over the weekend due to very little time for research, but with three of the next four days off I’ll be able to get back to winning some money, starting tonight. Let’s get started…

Game Winner My Game Winner will be my top play for the position. I’ll be using a combination of the matchup, recent performances, history against the current opponent and my gut to make my choices for the top play.

Dunk A Dunk is a second or third tier player with the highest upside and is someone who should give you the highest return on investment (ROI)

Half-Court Shot Otherwise known as a “punt play”. This player will be at, or near, minimum salary, but is someone I believe has a chance to greatly outperform the salary.

Pass A player deemed a Pass is someone who I’m doing just that. Passing on him. This is a top-tier player that I’ll be avoiding for various reasons. The matchup, price, recent performances, or just a gut feel are a few things I’ll take in an account.

So let’s get started…

NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 12/1/15

Point Guard

Game Winner Brandon Knight, Suns $7900

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 12/1/15Though he is listed as a point guard, Knight actually plays more of a shooting guard in this offense with Eric Bledsoe running the point. With that said, whether he is playing the point or the two, the Nets are bottom three versus both positions. This game currently has the highest over/under of any game on today’s slate so I expect to have a lot of exposure to the players in this one.

Dunk Mike Conley, Grizzlies $7000

Say it with me, “Start the point guard playing against the Pelicans.” The Lakers have actually taken over as the worst team against point guards over the last three weeks, but the Pelicans are a close second. Conley should have no trouble getting 35-plus fanduel points tonight.

Half-Court Shot D’Angelo Russell, Lakers $5100

I didn’t get a chance to watch the Lakers/Pacers game, so I’m not sure why Russell’s minutes were limited to only 26? Maybe it was due to Kobe Bryant being in the lineup after his retirement announcement. Whatever the reason, I expect him to go back to getting 30-plus minutes tonight and against the 76ers, who have yet to win a game, and should put up some good numbers.

Pass Tyreke Evans, Pelicans $7400

This one is easy. Evans hasn’t played all season, the Pels have shown they are willing to limit playing time for players coming off injury, and we aren’t sure exactly what position he is going to play? With the emergence of Ish Smith, it’s possible they move Evans to the shooting guard spot and move Eric Gordon to the bench. If that is the case then Evan’s value takes a hit. He showed last year that he is a better player with the ball in his hands than he is at the two guard, but until we get some clarity I’ll be avoiding this situation.

Shooting Guard

Game Winner Eric Bledsoe, Suns $8700

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 12/1/15As I stated above, this game has the highest over/under and the Nets are bottom three against the point guard position (which Bledsoe actually plays, but is listed as a shooting guard).

Dunk C.J. McCollum, Blazers $6700

I went back and forth between McCollum and Evan Fournier for this spot as both are good plays. Ultimately I decided on McCollum because there is a chance Damian Lillard sits out tonight, having left last night’s game early with abdominal pain. Even if Lillard plays, I’ll still roll with McCollum because I think the younger Blazers team will be better than the much older Mavs team, with both teams playing the second game of a back to back.

Half-Court Shot Louis Williams, Lakers $4500

After missing the last two games due to the passing of his grandfather, Williams should be back in the lineup tonight. I don’t expect Kobe Bryant to get 30-plus minutes again, nor do I expect Nick Young to get 20-plus, so Lou Will should get plenty of time on the court.

Pass Kobe Bryant, Lakers $6700

Even if he plays, there is no way he’ll be in any of my lineups tonight. I highly doubt he gets the 30-plus minutes as he received the last two games, thus limiting his value.

Small Forward

Game Winner LeBron James, Cavs $10100

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 12/1/15James has long been a Wizards killer, dating back to his first stint in Cleveland and I don’t expect that to change tonight. The Bucks are the only team worse than the Wizards guarding the small forward position over the last three weeks. Despite their current two-game win streak, the Cavs have actually been struggling recently, needing a last second shot from James to beat the Nets the last time out, expect James to come out and carry this Cavs team to a victory tonight.

Dunk Robert Covington, 76ers $6400

It’s too bad I wasn’t able to write much over the holiday weekend because I had Covington on my “Dunk” list the night he went off for 57 fanduel points. He followed that up with a decent fantasy showing against the Grizzlies, and he has a whopping 21 steals in the last three games! He is a great value at $6400 because he doesn’t have to score to reach value.

Half-Court Shot T.J. Warren, Suns $4400

Two straight games with 30-plus minutes and 35-plus fanduel points. Now he gets a Nets team that is bottom eight versus the small forward position. Warren plays the two-guard at times as well, and the Nets are even worse against the two.

Pass Al-Farouq Aminu, Blazers $5700

He is a little cheaper than my normal “Pass” candidates, but small forward is very shallow tonight. With three straight sub-20 point performances, he doesn’t give me any confidence he can reach value with a price tag of $5700.

Power Forward

Game Winner Kevin Love, Cavs $8300

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 12/1/15With six straight 35-plus fanduel point games, Love is a player that is a must start until his price goes up. The Wizards are decent at defending the power forward position, but Love is good enough to reach value anyway.

Dunk Thaddeus Young, Nets $6700

Young has a double-double in six of his last eight games, and with the number of shots the Suns like to take per game, there will be plenty of rebounding opportunities for Young to get another one tonight.

Half-Court Shot Dwight Powell, Mavs $4600

This pick is assuming the Dirk Nowitzki sits this game out as it’s the second game of a back to back. Even if Dirk plays, expect him to have his minutes limited somewhat, leaving the door opened for Powell to have a big game versus a Blazers team that is bottom four against the power forward position.

Pass Zach Randolph, Grizzlies $6900

Randolph came back from a five-game absence on Sunday, and he played decently from a fantasy perspective, but in real life actually struggled, hitting only six of his 17 shot attempts. Now he will have to contend with Anthony Davis and the uptempo Pelicans, not exactly an easy task for a guy that missed five games because of a balky knee.

Center

Game Winner Brook Lopez, Nets $8400

Free NBA DFS Fanduel Lineup Advice and Analysis for 12/1/15The process of elimination brought me to this pick. Marc Gasol was the only other guy I considered but decided on Lopez because of this game’s over/under.

Dunk Zaza Pachulia, Mavs $6400

Zaza has put up a double-double in six of his last seven games, and tonight matches up with a Blazers team that is fourth worst overall and dead last in rebounds allowed to opposing power forwards. This has double-double written all over it.

Half-Court Shot Gorgui Dieng, Timberwolves $4500

Finding an H-CS from a notoriously shallow position was not easy tonight but Dieng could actually end up being pretty good here. The Magic are bottom three versus opposing centers over the last three weeks. As long as he can stay out of foul trouble he should be a good play at $4500.

Pass Jahlil Okafor, 76ers $6400

His off the court issues may have something to do with his recent struggles, but either way, I’m not touching him.

The 6th Man

  • SG Brad Beal, Wizards $7000
