The Only Fantasy Football Waiver Article You Need, Week 8

Week 7 we saw a ton of unfortunate injuries, a huge trade, and a few guys that just came out of nowhere to have some fantasy value. The GoingFor2 team put together their favorite players that could be available in your leagues. Enjoy, and be sure to click and follow all our writers, their handles are linked below.

RB Gus Edwards (BAL) 43% Owned

The ravens will continue to be a run-first offense, they always will be. J.K. Dobbins will be out for anywhere from 4-6 weeks. There will be a committee in Baltimore, but we’ve seen that Gus Edwards will lead that backfield. Gus had 16 carries for 66 yards and 2 touchdowns this past week we should all be paying attention here. @TheYetiExpress

WR Kalif Raymond (DET) 11%

With two injuries to the Lions’ receiving core, you can expect Raymond to be utilized more in the coming weeks. He has already been showing more promise these past few weeks, with 9.5 points before last week’s bye and 14.5 on week 7. After D.J. Chark being put on IR and Amon Ra St. Brown’s concussion, Kalif will be expected to pick up some of the workload making him a great addition if you need to fill a spot during bye weeks. @Michael.Corkan

WR Parris Campbell (IND) 11%

Parris Campbell is making a difficult for Alec Pierce to get on the field in 2 WR sets. Over the past 3 weeks, Campbell has seen snap percentages of 92, 100 and 98 compared to 59, 65 and 97 for Pierce. Campbell has also seen just 2 fewer targets than WR1 Michael Pittman over the past 2 weeks (25-23) and he’s been able to turn that into 17 receptions for 127 yards and his only 2 TDs on the season. The matchups won’t always be as juicy as facing the Titans’ pass D but it seems like he’ll be more necessary than not.

Plus most of the top corners will be drawn to Pittman and sometimes Pierce. Campbell currently ranks as the WR44 on the year but finished as a WR1 in weeks 6 (WR10) and 7 (WR5). Over the next 6 weeks, you can more than likely slot him into the flex in 3 of them with upcoming games against the Commanders (W8), Raiders (W10) and Steelers (W12). He gets the Patriots, Eagles and Cowboys in the other 3 weeks before the bye so you may want to pivot. @JerryWilkeFM

WR Robbie Anderson (ARI) 32%

I know that on the surface, Anderson had an underwhelming debut for his new squad. He only played 20% of the snaps. However, with AJ Green not seeing the field and Rondale Moore likely moving back to the slot (he struggled on the outside on Sunday), expect Anderson to start to put up some numbers as gets more familiar with the playbook and acclimated to the offense. Up next for him are the Vikings and Seahawks who are both near the bottom in pass defense. @ZachAttack180

WR Marquise Goodwin (SEA) 0%

A lot of waiver adds during this part of the season are not the most attractive additions to your roster. And Marquis Goodwin is that type of player for sure. With the unfortunate knee injury to DK Metcalf, Goodwin will more than likely be forced into a more prominent role in the Seahawks’ offense. We still have no timetable for Metcalf’s return so that is something to monitor.

In Week 7 he had 4 receptions,67 yards and 2 touchdowns on 5 targets. He had a snap share of 58% in week 7. With Metcalf, there is a good chance Goodwin becomes the de facto WR 2 in Seattle. This time of year is also when bye-week replacements can determine if you win or lose your matchups. I can see him as WR 3 or flex position for fantasy.

I don’t necessarily think the touchdowns will continue at this pace, but with the potential increase in targets and receptions, I am targeting him in all of my deeper leagues. @dropthemikeFF

TE Greg Dulcich (DEN) 15%

Owned in only 15 percent of Sleeper redraft leagues, Dulcich has put up consecutive double-digit games since coming off of IR with a hamstring injury. Over those two games, he has eight catches(on twelve targets) for 95 yards and a touchdown. The rookie out of UCLA had a 99 percent snap share in week 7, and is making a push for lower-tier Tight End one production moving forward. With his stellar play, fellow tight end Albert Okwuegbunam has been a healthy scratch in each game. With byes continuing over the next several weeks, fantasy managers should make Dulcich the number one priority at tight end. @vandygrad92

QB Sam Ehlinger (IND) 0%

Sam Ehlinger is a Superflex/ deep league add for those desperate at the QB position. With the Colts going to Sam regardless of Matt Ryan’s injury, it shows they are looking to find more consistency in the position. With the Colts being 3-3-1 and Ryan’s injury, it doesn’t hurt to make a move like this. Ryan has nine picks in 7 games, and the offense ranks 29th in points per game. The Colts have weapons on the offensive side that need to be used.

With a new QB in Sam Ehlinger, who put together a few solid seasons at the college level and has shown some rushing ability, Ehlinger can help the Colts open up the offense. With Ehlinger’s rushing ability, he might have a chance to be a fantasy option for those in need. @ajohnson1033

WR Wan’Dale Robinson (NYG) 44%

Heading into the second half of the fantasy season, I typically like to obtain rookies with upside from the waiver wire. Just like my other waiver wire suggestion(TE Greg Dulcich), Robinson has spent part of the season on injured reserve with a knee injury. Since coming off of IR in week six, Robinson has nine catches(on twelve targets) for 87 yards and a touchdown.

After playing in only 23 percent of the Giants’ snaps in week six, his snap percentage increased to sixty-nine percent in week 7. Although Robinson went catchless in the second half against the Jaguars, it is hard to ignore his first-half involvement. Robinson has the potential talent and opportunity to be a WR3 for the rest of the season. @vandygrad92

TE Harrison Bryant (CLE) 29%

David Njoku is out for potentially 2-5 weeks with a high ankle sprain. That opens up the door for Bryant to step up and give Brissett a large target in the middle. Granted, the Browns have a bye week 9, high ankle sprains aren’t a walk in the park to recover from. I err on the side of caution, thinking you can plug Bryant in this week and Week 10. When Njoku went down, Bryant only had two targets, but he caught both for 15 yards. I know that’s not screaming “wow” but the TE position is already hard enough to fill with weak waiver options. I think Brissett will lean on him as he did Njoku. @luvtractor3

WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (CLE) 33%

While Donavon Peoples-Jones likely isn’t ready to take on the role of facing the opponent’s top cornerbacks just yet, he is developing into a great complementary piece playing behind Amari Cooper. He should prove to be a major asset to Cleveland’s offense for the rest of the season. Peoples-Jones has had over 70 yards in 3 of the last 4 games which puts him at WR 40 during that time. He’s averaging 86% of snaps this season, playing a season-high of 93% in week 7.

Currently ranked 32nd for all wide receivers in air yards with 415, he has that big play potential at any given moment. Unfortunately, without scoring any touchdowns, his floor is only 9 points and his ceiling is 12 points at any given week, but that consistency is great value off the waiver wire as a weekly flex option.

Now with Njoku sidelined with an ankle injury and expected to miss 2-5 weeks, People’s-Jones will see an increased target share over that time. He is a solid flex player versus the Bengals in week 8 on Monday night. @JamiePerog

RB D’Onta Foreman (CAR) 61%

After trading away Christian McCaffrey, everybody thought the Panthers were done for the season. It’s time for the full-on tank. Then they accidentally put up their best rushing numbers of the season against one of, if not the best rushing defenses in the league in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Football is weird like that this year. D’Onta Foreman had more carries and yards this week and Chuba Hubbard got hurt in the fourth quarter. I’m not saying he’s a must-start this week but he’s definitely worth a stash to see if he can keep it up. @MeLlamoMoron

QB Bailey Zappe (NE) 5%

Heading into Monday Night Football there apparently wasn’t a quarterback controversy in New England. After a couple of quick three-and-outs, along with a terrible read by Mac Jones that resulted in an interception, we may not just have a controversy, but a new starting quarterback for the Patriots altogether.

Whether the disgruntled crowd had a say in things or if it was Mac Jones’ on-the-field play in combination with his ankle not being 100%, one thing is clear, Bailey Zappe has taken full advantage of every opportunity in front of him so far in the NFL. He’s 2-0 as a starter with the potential to go to 3-0 after tonight’s game against the Bears and at the time of writing this, the former Western Kentucky product is already 5-of-6 with 109 yards and a touchdown. Zappe hour looks like it just became Zappe season. @Ev_Ritt3
